The cooking class with Adjei started with an entertaining market visit. He inquired about my wishes and accordingly selected vegetarian dishes for me and bought them together with me. Afterwards we prepared and prepared the dishes together with the support of dear Genevieve and her daughter Rosetta. I was shown all the handles and ingredients very precisely. There was Jollof Rice, Kelewele, Stew, Salad and freshly squeezed pineapple-carrot juice. All together an extremely delicious treat, I think I will still dream of this rice. Fortunately, I was able to make a note of the recipes on the side and will certainly cook them at home sometime. There was an extremely pleasant atmosphere in Adjei's kitchen and I can only warmly recommend this interesting culinary experience! Thanks again to the three of you!

AJ, the event organizer, as a person and host is great! Would love to recommend him for his digital marketing work and ability to be a warm personality to new people. With that said, this experience was pretty awful. It was much less of a cooking class than someone making dinner for you in their kitchen. While that is theoretically a cool experience, that is not what my partner and I signed up for. We did not walk away from this experience with a strong knowledge on how to replicate any that we ate. Still waiting for the typed recipes that were promised 4 days ago with no word. Additionally, $100 USD per person is WAY too much for what you are actually getting (a meal with a charismatic host and leftovers). I’d say this experience is worth maybe $50 per person but anything higher feels overpriced. Last, it didn’t feel like AJ and his cooking assistant were prepared for us at all. We were told to pull up to Summer Haven, went through a whole misunderstanding with the guards for 10mins before AJ appeared at the compound across the street to tell us the experience was near Summer Haven, not at. Multiple ingredients not being ready, gas running out halfway through the experience forcing us to pause for 30mins and integral elements of a cooking class (like how participants would take the excess food home and what parts of the meal the participants would be hands on with) were clearly not considered beforehand. There is no reason why Pan-Fried Chicken, Jollof and Red Red should be a 4hr+ cooking experience if the proper preparation has been taken. TL;DR: Great host, awful class. Find a class with someone who actually teaches you how to cook the meal at a fraction of the price.

This is a SCAM. And an overpriced scam. I was billed $200 USD and never received tickets and had no email or whatsapp info from the operator. I whatsapped the tour operator and travel advisor and received no help! So no cooking class and out $200 that they say is non-refundable!

As a Ghanaian, I’ve been out of touch when it comes to cooking traditional meals so I decided to try out the cooking class. We learned how to prepare Tuo Zafi, a traditional Ghanaian dish, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and our instructor’s passion for Ghanaian cuisine was evident. Tuo Zafi is a comforting dish made with cornmeal and typically served with a rich, flavorful soup and stew. It tasted amazing and I can’t wait to cook this back home for my family , I’m sure they’ll be surprised!

One of the highlights of my trip to Ghana was the cooking class, where we had the chance to prepare traditional dishes like Ghanaian fried rice and the ever-popular Jollof rice. Both dishes were delicious, and I can't stop thinking about them! The flavours were rich, and each bite took me deeper into the heart of Ghanaian cuisine. Our cook was fantastic! They took their time to walk us through every step of the process, explaining the ingredients, techniques, and cultural significance behind the dishes. It was such a hands-on experience, and we learned not just how to cook, but also about the tradition and love that goes into every meal. You could feel the passion for food in every detail. Adjei, our guide, made the experience even better.

I had the most amazing experience at Adjei’s cooking class! It was a fantastic introduction to Ghanaian cuisine, and I’m so glad I joined. Adjei’s teaching style is incredibly approachable and fun he made the entire process feel easy, even for someone who’s not the best in the kitchen. We learned how to make omutuo (rice balls) and peanut butter soup, two classic Ghanaian dishes, and I was impressed by how simple yet flavorful the dishes turned out. Adjei took the time to explain every step, offering great tips along the way. Whether you're new to cooking or just looking to try something different, I highly recommend this class! You'll walk away with delicious food and new cooking skills you can use again and again.
