This is not a tourist tour. This is a day spent with a local in a small village of just 55 residents, on a private reindeer farm and in a cozy cabin by a private lake—where nature is not just close to you, but you are one with it. This is an experience that will change the way you think about tourist excursions.
We will pick you up comfortably from your holiday accommodation, and you will be part of a small group of a maximum of 8 people. You’ll meet and feed reindeer and hear fascinating stories about reindeer life, Lapland’s nature, traditions, and its eight seasons. You can also buy reindeer antlers as a special souvenir, so bring cash.
Try your luck at ice fishing, then warm up in a traditional hut where you can grill your catch. We’ll enjoy a tasty soup lunch and hot drinks — and if we catch a fish, we’ll cook it together!

What To Expect
We trave here with a car about 40 minutes from Levi. First we meet the reindeer.
After reindeer we head out for our spot of fishing. Ice fishing is a traditional, Lappish way of fishing in winter and involves drilling a hole in the ice and waiting to see if the fish hiding under the ice will agree to take a bite. After fishing we will head to the atmospheric wilderness cabin of Soma Hideout for a delicious fish soup lunch.

5.00We had a lovely day out in the wilds of Lapland with Ellen and her sweet dog as our guides. We started with a brief coffee at their charming cabin. After that, we had the opportunity to visit a nearby reindeer farm (feeding, petting, and a training session included) before heading out to the ice-fishing spot. The meal was fantastic, and since we were the only couple that day, there was plenty of time to ask questions about the traditional Sámi way of life. Ellen had excellent insight and willingly shared her experiences with us. We wholeheartedly recommend Soma Adventures to anyone looking for an authentic half-day activity in a beautiful setting. Ps: the dog was „optional“ ;-) no worries Thank you, Ellen, for making this such a unique and memorable experience T&P

5.00We had such an amazing experience with Heli. Truly a wonderful Lapish experience without the tourist feel. We would highly recommend this experience for everyone. From visiting a local reindeer farm to ice fishing and lunch in Heli’s home, you feel so welcome. Heli and Ellen shared with us stories and knowledge about day to day life in Lapland and we had so much fun, the time went so fast! The day was so much fun!
Soma adventures are professional, warm, caring and knowledgable. The trip is fantastic. Highly recommend.

5.00We had such a special morning and lunch with Heli, visiting a reindeer farm and learning about farming in Finland. We fed them lichen, walked among them, and led one around do we could see them up close. We then went to the most beautiful lake house and had warm juice and used the compost toilet before head a short way out on the ice to catch fish. We fish at home but this was so different. The silence, sunshine and soulful location were amazing and have caught 3 fish we enjoyed them and homemade soup and cake for lunch. A truly wonderful time, we will treasure the memory forever.

5.00The trip was awesome! The two ladies who looked after us were super nice, explained and showed us a lot. The reindeer farm was very nice and the reindeer very trusting. There was also the possibility to buy antlers there. Ice fishing was a very interesting experience and we all had success with it. The food prepared by the boss was traditional and very delicious. All in all a very nice excursion away from mass tourism.

She is wonderful, she took us to experience the places without tourists which we can experience the real life in Levi🥹 I love the reindeer farm and ice fishing! The reindeer farm is really big and normally the other tours could only see few reindeers or ice fishing on a very crowded like but this tour is totally different!! I would say this event is really well organized and you can tell Heli puts so much effort for letting the person come to Finland to experience something really special! What I appreciate the most is Heli is really caring,we were just chatting about we wanna buy cloudberry but we can’t find it, she just shared the cloudberries with us in the most amazing wooden cabin🥰 And the dishes and desserts she prepared were delicious! I super highly recommended this tour! Thank you Heli, for having this such an amazing tour🫶 although is a new start tour but you would definitely receive more than you expected after the tour!🇫🇮🫎❄️❤️🎣 P.s.: Heli took amazing pictures hehe

5.00Very nice guides who can tell you a lot and what you can ask anything about. In the meantime, you are still being photographed, with permission of course. We are very happy with it, because the pictures are super! Make sure you're properly dressed. We have been in December and it was cold. Soma also had coats that we were allowed to use and this was much appreciated during ice fishing. Unfortunately, we didn't catch anything. But you can't always get lucky. We had a great view at the lake. Then we warmed up with a delicious, homemade lunch from Heli. Everything was thought of. We have enjoyed and become experiences richer♥️
