With your local guide by your side, you’ll skip past the tourist traps and discover the city’s culinary highlights in some of our favorite local neighborhoods.
You’ll sample classic Austrian dishes like goulash, käsekrainer (sausage with cheese), tafelspitz (boiled beef), and/or krautfleckerl (cabbage and noodles). You’ll also get to taste some Austrian sweet treats like apricot dumplings and homemade cake. Wash it all down with a beer or spritzwein, and a coffee or tea in a local cafe. Note that our tours vary with whatever is on season and on the menu that day.

5.00My husband and I joined a small group tour of with Maria as our guide for the Food tour through Vienna. Wow, we had an amazing day with lots of locations for food/drinks. Special mention to the following. 1st stop - Cafe Pruckel which has elegant food, service and setting, this place was exquisite. 3rd stop - 16er Wurtelstand for the best goulash, sausages, pork belly and mustards I’ve ever tasted. Thomas is a wonderful host, and we enjoyed his fun welcoming demeanour, great food and explanation of the preparation of foods too! 6th stop - XOXOLAT…….The Chocolates are divine! Definitely must go here. Very special thank you to Maria, who spent the time to explain the locations we would Visit, and also explain the transportation system we’re using, and history about the area. We had a fabulous day, all due to Maria showing us where the people of Vienna enjoy their food and drinks locally. A must do tour, especially if it’s your first time here! We loved it. 5.00A must do tour of Vienna. Ate and drank where locals do…visited several historic sites, learned how to use transit while visiting over 8 stops. Our favorite was the melange at the imperial upscale cafe, goulash and crispy pork and Austrian pastries at a family bakery. Maria our tour guide was outstanding. She is passionate about what she does and selects the hidden gems to explore in the city. We learned so much from her. We highly recommend this tour!

5.00Been on a few walking food tours and this was the best we have been on .Maria was very knowledgeable and places she took us was places we wouldn’t have went to.Food in abundance and very friendly hosts the all establishments.Public transport required but made less daunting with an expert on hand keeping us right at all times.

5.00Excellent 5+ hour food tour through Vienna. Our guide, Maria, was superb, informative and entertaining, and led us to lesser tourist travelled neighborhoods for authentic Viennese foods. Our stop at Thomas’ food stall in the street market was a highlight. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing our experiences with our fellow travelers and Maria as we used trams and the Metro to traverse the city. Highly recommended!
