  This was so much more than food! Yes, the food was amazing and each location thoughtfully curated by our local guide, ChaCha, but what stands out most for me was learning about Vallarta and Mexican history and even current events as it relates to the food we tasted. All of the family vendors have been serving food in Vallarta for 20-40 years. I have been visiting Vallarta for 15+ years, live there seasonally and have always wanted to do this tour. Now, when I walk the streets and stop for a bite to eat, I know the stories, the challenges and hopefully contribute to the propserity of a family owned business. ChaCha generously shared her own story and how we as visitors & residents can help make Vallarta a sustainable community for residents and tourists. Well worth the time!

  I’ve been coming to PV for 12 years and lived here for 3 and this is one of the best things I have ever done. My nieces were visiting from Japan and booked us on this tour. I can’t recommend this experience enough. The delicious food is only part of the 5 Star experience. The owner and tour guide is incredibly knowledgeable of the history of PV and specifically the Old Town/Zona Romantica neighborhood. She gave us the background story of each of the fabulous food places we visited. You will also get a better understanding about the everyday people who work in the hospitality industry that make PV the magical place it is. The portions were more than enough and the flavors were the best Mexico has to offer. Please treat yourself to an authentic Mexican experience that will leave your hearts as full as your stomach.

  We did a tour with Cha Cha last Monday and had a wonderful time. My husband and I live here a few months a year, but we've never done such a tour. It was amazing! We learned a lot about the country, the city, Mexican culture and Mexican food, things that we did not know. Cha Cha took us to many local places, each with its own specialties, and all run by Mexicans. I highly recommend them. They won't regret it.

  This tour was the highlight of our stay! Our guide, Cha Cha, had such passion for the city, the family businesses we visited, and the history of the area and Mexico. From churros to el pastor, the amazing food was a snapshot of the vibrant neighborhood and culture and left me wanting more. I loved that we were given a pamphlet of all the establishments we visited at the end of the tour. I fully intend on bringing the rest of the family to try some of them tomorrow.

  Absolutely incredible food tour — a highlight of our trip to Puerto Vallarta! We had the most authentic culinary experience with Star, our amazing guide. This wasn’t your typical touristy tour — we dove headfirst into local culture, eating at hidden taco stands with no menus (you just have to know what to order!) and sampling every part of the beef head, from cheek to tongue to brain. Beyond the food (spanning so many variety from tacos to traditional soup and desserts), Star shared the cultural and historical context of each dish — where it came from, how it’s traditionally prepared, and how modern Mexicans cook and eat today. We learned so much and tasted things we never thought we’d try. If you want to experience the real Puerto Vallarta through its food, this tour is a must-do!

  Highly recommend, did evening walking taco tour with the family. Ate at amazing places that are off the crowded touristy boardwalk. Amazing quality tacos, churros and dessert. So stuffed and totally worth it. Glad we did it. Chacha was a very informative guide and felt like family
