What To Expect
Bairnkine Farm Tours
Experience nature in an immersive farm tour. Lucy or Matt will take you on a trailer tour around the farm. You will hear about their farm story, how Lucy went from being a towny to a farmer. You will hear about their journey to sustainable, organic farming. Depending on the time of year, you will either see the animals out in the fields or in the sheds. You will see wool shedding sheep, lambs in fields and pet lambs(dependent on time of year), newly planted woods and farm machinery. Look out for deer, foxes, buzzards and other birdlife. It's also an opportunity to take in the views, looking over to The Cheviots in one direction and Ruberslaw and Peneilheugh in another. There will be plenty of opportunities to take photos.

5.00The farm tour was interesting and informative, Lucy the farmer and tour guide was obviously committed to organic farming and that shone through in the tour we did ,altogether a worthwhile and value for money experience, the lambing nursery was most enjoyable. Wild rose cottage was comfortable and well equipped with comfortable beds and a wonderful log burner for cool evenings.

5.00We would 100% recommend booking a farm tour if you stay at Bairnkine holiday cottages! Interesting, informative and great for kids. Lots of first hand learning was had and the kids loved the farm animals and going to see the tractor 🚜 and fields too. Lucy was lovely and fab with the boys. Great to switch off and immerse yourself into the countryside and farmyard. Me & my boys would give the farm tours 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

5.00My family and my in-laws really enjoyed this farm tour.we were driven a fair distance in a farm trailer and given a wealth of information on their vast farm in the picturesque Bairkin. We fortunate to see the only spring lamb that had been born early. My boys fed the cows at the end which they loved. Lucy was a very friendly host,was patient and answered all our questions. It was interesting to hear her story on her farming journey.

5.00Lucy and Matt hosted myself and my agriculture pupils as part of our investigation into agritourism in our local area. The farm tour was a really engaging way to learn about the farm and the surrounding area as we travelled through it with a comfy seat, listening to Lucy's wealth of knowledge through the speaker system. A fun interactive experience while also being informative.
