The First Michelin food stop will be at Kor Panich Mango Sticky Rice, open since 1932 and known for its delicious mango sticky rice dish. The shop originally served their unique dish and recipe to the Thai kings and queens. The shop was founded in 1932 by Kaap and his wife, and it was his wife who made the sticky rice. She followed the recipe her mother, who worked in the royal palace kitchen, had passed down. As we dig into the perfectly ripe mangoes, we find them incredibly juicy. We then place them onto a bed of warm sticky rice, topped with creamy coconut milk lightly tinged with sugar and salt. Finally, we add a sprinkle of fried mung beans for an extra crunch, resulting in perfection. The restaurant is typical of this area. There are only a few tables, so we experience eating while sitting on a wooden chair by the roadside amid blaring cars and tuk-tuks passing by in front of us.

  • Great Guide, Good Experience — But Didn’t Quite Wow Us

First and foremost, our guide Amy was an absolute star. She truly made this tour for us. She was incredibly thoughtful — making sure we would finish in time to catch our 9pm show, sharing detailed explanations about the foods and the cultural background behind them, and carefully checking that everyone’s dietary restrictions were respected. She also made sure we left completely stuffed (mission accomplished). Durian wasn’t included in the tour, but my husband asked if we could try some while we were out, and Amy happily helped make that happen. I can now officially say I’ve tried it. It was… fine. I still don’t quite understand the obsession, but I’m glad we had the experience! As for the tour itself — it was good, but for the price, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The Michelin-star branding sets the bar pretty high, and aside from the mango sticky rice (which was absolutely phenomenal), nothing truly stood out. We’ve had equally good — if not better — food wandering around Chinatown on our own. Riding around in the tuk-tuks was definitely fun and added to the overall experience, and everything was well organized. But compared to other food tours we’ve done in Bangkok, this one just didn’t quite stack up. Overall, a solid experience made memorable by an excellent guide — but probably not one we would repeat.

  • Well organised, great food a fun and exhilarating experience

This trip is well worth doing and is brilliant on so many different levels. I don't want to spoil the experience by giving too much detail, so my review is deliberately vague. There are surprises in store, amazing food, iconic establishments and genuinely unique experiences to be had. Anyone who loves real food, cooked beautifully and with great skill will enjoy this trip. The organisation was superb, our guide Tom was brilliant and this was the highlight of our stay in Bangkok.

Our guide was great, upbeat, informative and organized. We loved going around by tuk tuk. 🛺 Some of the food was not the best even though the restaurants were rated Michelin bib Gourmand. Nice getting the authentic Thai meal and hearing the history.

We wanted to experience celebrated Thai dishes in a fun and accessible way, and that is exactly what we got. From booking to pick up and drop off at our hotel, my family was well-taken care of (even making sure our 4-year-old was able to engage). We left will full grateful bellies.

Bo was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. The Tuk Tuks were so much fun getting one driver the whole time to whisk you around. All the food was great, we did not go home hungry and had more than enough food.

Would definitely recommend this food tour. We were picked up from our hotel in a tuk tuk and then met up with our guide -Tom and 2 other couples. Tom was very knowledgeable and at any opportunity passed on his local knowledge about Bangkok’s history and traditions. We started with the mango sticky rice , which was amazing, the mango was the best I’ve ever tasted , absolutely perfect in every way. We then went on to have pad thai, again stunning then we shared a selection of five typically Thai dishes which were fabulous , then onto China town for a Chinese donut. The dishes weee interspersed with tuk tuk drives and a bit of walking so you didn’t feel like you were just constantly eating. It was a pleasure to share the experience with couples from different countries and Tom was delightful- I would recommend this tour if you want a taste of Thailand whilst learning a bit about its culture.

What a nice evening! We were picked up precisely, the food was superb and our guide, Tom, topped it all. He spoke well and easily understood English, and seasoned the culinary journey with historical facts and curiosity along the way. We hope to meet him again, maybe as a guide for a historic trip. PS travel companion can not do anything with the supplier, but here it became full flap! Cute people from GB and USA made the evening extra cozy 😊

Exciting activity for first time travelers in Bangkok. Great thanks to Beer and the Tuktuk driver who made this experience worthwhile. Beer, our tour guide was very nice, knowledgeable and made sure we’re comfortable. Tasting the Michelin food in Bangkok is one of a lifetime experience that should never be missed. It was also a challenge to walk through the busiest streets of Bangkok but Beer made sure we were safe and guided. Thank you to Beer too for the beautiful pictures she took for us during the tour.
