Discover Barolo — often called the “King of Wines and the Wine of Kings” — on a small-group journey from Milan into the vineyard hills of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage wine landscape.
Travel in a comfortable small group with an English-speaking guide.
The first stop is Alba, the world capital of white truffles and the birthplace of Nutella. Enjoy 2 hours of free time to stroll the historic center and enjoy lunch.
From Alba, continue into the Barolo wine region to visit a family-run winery with spectacular views over the Langhe hills. Enter the traditional cellar, meet the producers, and enjoy a guided tasting of 7 wines, including Barolo, while learning about local vineyards and winemaking traditions.
The day also includes a stop at Grinzane Cavour Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site surrounded by vineyards and one of the iconic viewpoints in the Langhe.
(On Tuesdays, when the castle is closed, the stop is replaced by a panoramic viewpoint in La Morra or Barbaresco.)

Alba
Alba is known for its historic charm, excellent cuisine, and the famous White Truffle Fair, held on weekends in October and November. Explore the medieval towers and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the town’s main cathedral. Browse local shops for some of the world’s best hazelnut cream, or enjoy lunch in a small, traditional restaurant serving Piedmont specialties such as fresh egg pasta and veal with tuna sauce.
Barolo
Visit a family-run winery in a panoramic setting surrounded by vineyards. Enter the cellars and learn directly from the winemakers about the production of Barolo, a strictly regulated wine made only from Nebbiolo grapes, with precise rules governing vineyard location, aging, and classification. Discover how each hill and vineyard has its own name and character, influencing structure, aroma, and aging potential. Taste at least six DOC and DOCG red wines, sometimes seven, including Barolo, during a guided tasting focused on quality, terroir, terroir expression, and local tradition.
Stop at a UNESCO-listed castle or panoramic viewpoint (Panoramic viewpoint on Tuesdays)

Such a fun and well organized tour! It had the perfect mix of beautiful scenery and wine tasting, so you never felt like you were missing out on either. The small group size made it feel really personal and relaxed, which we loved. A big shoutout to our guide Kiera, she was super friendly, easygoing, and knowledgeable, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, it was a fantastic day out for our family, definitely one of those memories we will look back on with a smile. We definitely recommend the tour!

Overall Fantastic experience ! The guide , cayara, kept the whole travel very lively with useful information and jovial anecdotes. We didn’t feel the drive was long. All the practical arrangements worked very well. Fabio drove very safely and smoothly. At the vineyard, Stefano, the Owner (lady) and their colleague (the lady who served the welcome drink) and a fantastic job. Stefano appeared to have deep knowledge of winemaking and entertained us well during the winery tour and the wine tasting with valuable information. He is a modest person who said his English was not so good, but we felt that he could communicate very well. Overall the experience was good and I recommend trying this small scale company.

My wife and I totally enjoyed our day trip to Cavour Castle, Alba, and wine tasting at Montaribaldi Winery from Milan on 4/4/26. All 3 places were wonderful experiences. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. But the highlight of the trip was Chiara, our guide. She was incredibly knowlegeable, courteous, patient, cheerful, funny, and she was a true professional. I have never experienced a better guide. She was even better than Stefano, who was our previous guide.

I enjoyed that the group was small (~18 people), giving us more attention, and making the coordination go more smoothly. Kiara was very attentive and gave the tour an extra flavor with the curiosities and warm and energetic vibe. All went smoothly. The vineyards were absolutely beautiful, so much I feel must come back when it’s close to harvest season to see another landscape.

A beautiful sunny day with Chiara as a lovely guide. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the region and made a relatively long drive loads of fun. Alba was very cozy and the stop at the truffle store where we got to try various products was a nice touch. At Montaribaldi we got to try seven amazing wines.. obviously we had to take some home. Highly recommend this trip!

Chiara was the best tour guide in Italy!! She is so sweet, she also had a pre made list of restaurants to try in Alba, and even made reservations for everyone. She was amazing, loved the castle and wine tour. Fabio was a great driver, so kind.

Our trip was fantastic! The town of Alba was so charming. Loved the truffle tasting, then a stop by local outdoor market followed by an incredible lunch outside to take in the quaint while atmosphere. The wine tasting in Barolo region did not disappoint !!! We were provided an intimate wine experience with the family/owners themselves (and I believe tasted 8 red wines in total). The highlight of our entire day was our exceptional guide Oleg!!! He was such a pleasure to spend the day with while sharing a wealth of local knowledge.

This was a great tour through Piedmont! Stefano of Abroads tours designed a great day that let us experience Alba and a Piedmont winery where we tasted many wines including Barolo and Barbaresco. This is a newer, smaller company that also aims to work with other local businesses in the Piedmont region. I highly recommend this tour!
