We did 3 trips with this company. The jungle walk and waterfall, half day snorkeling and the Bioluminescence tour (which was amazing and an absolute must do if you're here at the right time.) Each time, Josie was great at helping us organize it, the guides were friendly and so knowledgeable about the wildlife and we were picked it up and dropped off at our hotel. Thank you for helping us make such amazing memories

We departed from Mangrove Marina near Hopkins at 8 AM for a full-day snorkeling adventure on the Belize Barrier Reef. The boat held about 15 people total, including three staff members who each guided snorkeling groups, which made the experience feel organized and safe. Before heading to the first reef drop, the crew provided a brief equipment demonstration for anyone new to snorkeling. They made sure masks, fins, and snorkels fit comfortably and explained everything clearly. The orientation lasted about 20 minutes, which was great for beginners. They also offered optional life jackets for anyone who wasn’t comfortable swimming in open water for longer periods (about 20–40 minutes per snorkel session). Our group of six people had our own guide, which made the experience even better. We snorkeled at three different spots along the reef, and the marine life was incredible. There were so many colorful fish and coral formations, and it’s easy to understand why the Belize Barrier Reef is considered one of the best snorkeling destinations in the world. One of the highlights was when a nurse shark suddenly appeared from underneath a coral formation and swam calmly past us. It was an amazing moment to see such a beautiful creature so close in its natural habitat. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out different species and reef life at each snorkeling location. Another unique highlight was actually catching a conch, which later became part of our lunch — fresh conch ceviche prepared right on the island. After snorkeling, we traveled to South Water Caye Marine Reserve, where the crew prepared an incredible meal. They started with banana bread, fresh salsa, and chips, followed by a delicious spread of barbecue jerk chicken, rice and beans, coleslaw, and curry snapper. The fresh conch ceviche was fantastic. They also served rum punch and provided ice-cold bottled water, which was perfect after being in the sun all morning. A helpful tip: the boat ride can get wet depending on the water conditions, so bringing a dry bag for your belongings is a great idea. Also be prepared for full sun exposure most of the day, so sunscreen or a long-sleeve sun-protective swim shirt is highly recommended. Overall, this was an amazing day on the water with fantastic snorkeling, knowledgeable guides, and incredible food. If you’re staying near Hopkins or Placencia, this excursion is absolutely worth doing.

First time in Belize and snorkeling on this reef. Took full day trip with Alvin, Jayden, Captain Rich. 10 passengers. Plenty of room on boat. Pretty ride to 3 sites. 1st site a little choppy with current, next two shallower and much better fish and reef. Great island lunch and relaxation afterward. Picked up and dropped off at dock in front of our lodge. Thanks to a terrific crew !

Very pleasant guides. They will tailor the experience to your ability. You take a ~20 min boat ride out towards the cayes. This tour is not crowded!

My husband and I snorkled with a team from 'Get to Know Belize' on our recent trip to Hopkins. Tour guides Tyler, Aldon and Theo were professional and very knowledgeable in all aspects of the trip and of the reef. Boat captain, Richie D., was a very skilled driver (as well as entertainer). We felt safe, learned a lot, met fellow travelers, and laughed. This family owned business surpassed our expectations!

My husband and I try to snorkel on any beach trip and we are so glad we booked with Josie and her crew. Jeff was our captain, and Alton (spelling?) was our leader in the water. These guys were great! They worked hard to make sure we all were safe and happy. Alton also was great in the water with pointing out unusual fish and coming to the surface to tell us their names. It was the half day excursion, so only a few hours on the water, but we went to two locations for snorkeling ( the 2nd had better fish) and one other spot to just sort of chill. We didn't see that many "amazing' fish, though a couple of nurse sharks were swimming around. We had also been told that only 4 other people were booked with us, and it turned out there were 12, including a family of 5. I am not sure if there was a last minute change for staffing, or if something else happened. We all took it in stride, and though the boat was crowded, everyone had a great time. We also rented our golf cart from Jose and Get to know Belize, so though they picked us up near our AirBnB, we rode back with them to the final spot to get the golf cart -- which they came an picked up from us at the end of our stay.

This was one of the best experiences of our lives. We went with a group of 4 women for the full day snorkeling and we all had an absolute blast. Meds and Tyler were outstanding/ top notch teachers and tour guides, sharing their marine expertise along the way, some of the nicest people out there. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you SO much!!! We saw SO much from the reefs, hammerhead shark, coolest fish, bluest waters, sting rays — what a dream!
