Basel City Tour Confusion

1.00This tour did not occur, as there was confusion between Viator and the local tour operator on the pickup location (our hotel), for which the location / address was previously indicated in the tour booking, which was made 7 months earlier. The tour operator did not contact Viator or us in advance to clarify the pickup location. We waited but no one showed up, and Viator / us could not reach the tour operator until later in the morning. Tour was not rescheduled. The tour operator advised that Viator did not pass on the specific pickup location and our contact info to them. A refund is pending from Viator / tour operator. Overall it was a very bad experience.

2.00This is what Viator can do better. Please ask your tour guides to be more identifiable to the customer. We dont know the face or name of the tour guide we are supposed to meet. We have to walk up on strangers to ask if they're the person. It's ridiculous. Why would you put customers in a position like that?! Then the tour guide is at Basel SBB when i specifically asked to be picked up at my hotel, the Radisson Blu. Being picked up was an option that I took. But the tour guide was at Basel SBB. So I wound up not taking a tour that I had to pay for. I'm questioning whether or not I rebook.
