I did a walking tour in Battambang with a local guide who’s just getting started, and it was such a genuinely good experience. You can tell how much it means to him , really passionate about sharing his city and showing the real side of Battambang. The tour was interactive and relaxed, and we went to local eateries, temples, markets, and a few hidden gems I never would have found on my own. It was very interesting. What stood out most for us was the perspective. I learned about monks and their education, stories about people from Battambang, and how life here is for most locals enjoying the cultural ways of traditional business, and yet for others expanding and exploring modern changes. It gave a much deeper understanding of the place, not just what you see on the surface. Also just a really comfortable, open vibe , you feel like you can ask anything and have real conversations. It’s suitable for all fitness levels. My mum is 77 years old and was very comfortable. He’s still building up reviews, and clearly putting in the effort and really cares about what he’s doing. If you’re in Battambang and want something more personal and authentic, I’d definitely recommend it. Wishing him the best , hope it grows, he deserves it.
