Being in Alaska I wanted to take some hikes and wanted added protection from Bears. I hadn't thought about it until I arrived, but thankfully Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental took my call and set me up with the bear spray that day for the entire week. Always better to be safe than sorry. I believe if you contact them in advance, they can have it delivered to your hotel.

AOGR is the gear supply that I have always wanted in my back yard. Wow! So much to choose from, great pricing, fantastic service, and an environmentally sustainable option. We rented three pack rafts (with paddles and life jackets) for an overnight camping trip to Spencer Glacier. We arrived by train with a lot of gear. The hike in is a little over a mile to the lake and campground. The trail is very flat and well-groomed. Although we wish we had rented a wagon (also available at AOGR and $20 baggage fee for the train). There were a few good places to launch the rafts on the lake. It took us about 20 minutes to get them fully inflated and ready to go. We watched a video tutorial in advance of our trip to learn about inflating these pack rafts. Then we spent the entire morning paddling toward the glacier and in between icebergs. We even had a sunny day! We definitely recommend the overnight option to Spencer Glacier. It gave us lots of time for paddling and plenty of time to get our gear back for the return train. The group campsites are very close to the lake. They include potable water, picnic tables, bear boxes, and a pit toilet.

In town visiting and needed a can of bear spray for a few hikes in Denali. It was much easier and cheaper to rent a top name brand like Counter Assault 10 oz can, than go purchase a random smaller brand. It comes with choice of holster. Nearly brand new cans - excellent condition. Pick up and return was fast and easy. They even offer early or after hour pick up and returns or hotel and airport options. They also provide Instruction on how to use bear spray and info on hiking. Highly recommend!
