The Valley of Thor, or Þórsmörk (Thorsmork) in Icelandic, is a nature reserve in the southern highlands, located between three glaciers; Eyjafjallajökull (the famous glacier volcano that erupted in 2010 and caused widespread disruption to air traffic in Europe), Mýrdalsjökull and Tindfjallajökull. Þórsmörk is a place of diverse and magnificent landscape with its ice capped peaks, jagged mountain ridges and valleys rich with moss and birch woodland. Þórsmörk is a paradise for hikers, photographers and nature lovers.
The route to Þórsmörk has many unbridged rivercrossings with deep fast flowing waters, famous for trapping tourists in un-modified rental cars. Therefore we take you to Þórsmörk in one of our super jeeps, a modified vehicle with huge tyres that can forge rivers and tackle just about any terrain. Riding in a Super jeep is an adventure on its own.
Beautiful Surroundings of Thorsmork is a Super Jeep tour with an optional easy/moderate 90 minute hike.

Seljalandsfoss
Seljalandsfoss is one of the most visited waterfalls in Iceland. This 66m (213ft) high waterfall is not the most powerful waterfall in Iceland but extremely beautiful. What makes it special, though, is the fact that you can walk behind it. Just remember to bring rain gear with you because it is not unlikely that spray from the waterfall will catch you.
Volcano Eyjafjallajokull
By now you have entered the beautiful Surroundings of Þórsmörk. Gígjökull is an outlet that flows from Eyjafjallajökull. Previously, there was a glacial lagoon underneath the glacier, which was one of the gems of Þórsmörk, but it got destroyed in the famous 2010 Eyjafjalla volcanic eruption. therefore today it is possible to drive on the former bottom of the lagoon almost up to the glacier.

Excellent experience! Kalmar was a great guide, he took us to the best spots and more! He also told us some Iceland History and explained us about rocks and lava formations, super interesting. Excellent photographer. The whole tour took us nearly 7 hours. It was amazing!

What a fabulous day we had with our tour guide, Peter! He was knowledgeable, witty and showed my teenage son a great time today! Every place that he took us was breathtaking and he explained so many things to us that we never knew! 10/10, I’d choose him again to take us anywhere in Iceland!

Don’t hesitate - just book your tour with Thorsmork Super Jeep Tour. We decided to book a tour to see Pórsmörk and it was truly awesome. Our guide, Kálman Rácz, was honestly the best. He was patient and encouraging as I was more hesitant to do things that seemed risky but he literally at one point encouraged me forward - and the incredibly secret waterfall that we climbed up to was spectacular. We would have never explored this park on our own. Worth every penny (or krona). Can’t recommend this company - or Kálman - high enough. Out of 1-10, this adventure was an 11!

We had an extraordinary tour from the beginning to the end: The hotel pick-up was on time. We were even only the only guests (up to 6 people can go with). After that about 1.5 hours tranquil drive with fears for good weather :). Our guide, Einar, told us a lot about the history and the landscape and made the whole trip special. On the way still toilet and coffee break. After that we had 4 wonderful stops, each connected with small 30 to 40 minute easy hikes. But you should at least wear sure-footed shoes:). From one stop to the next adventurous off-road ride over rocks and through rivers. Of course, there was also a lunch break in a rustic cabin... The landscape was fantastic, you feel like you are in another, untouched world. Even if the jeep tour is quite expensive (ok, it's Iceland) you get an unforgettable experience and highlight: absolutely do it!!!

This tour to þorsmörk definitly exceeded all of my expectations. Not only because of the magical looking places but also because our tour guide Hjörtur was amazing. He had shown us a lot of his secrete places where you could experience the true beauty of Iceland in peace. There was more than enough time for exploring wherever we had stopped. Crossing rivers in Superjeep was so much fun, the green colour all around was unreal and the hidden waterfall was pure magic. If I had to choose a tour to go again to I would definitly choose this one with this company. Thank you again for such a great and memorable time!

Einar brought us to all the most amazing areas! Took us up 1 hike, which had amazing views and another small one! I highly recommend taking this tour! He has a solid beast of a car that took us to many great places. If you are going on this tour, bring a good wind proof jacket. Einar also offers to take photos for you. He also has an outstanding beard.
