5.00Very fun! You’ll start by learning a few techniques with a sword, then you’ll pick a traditional samurai outfit, then practice for a filming experience. You’ll film outside in front of Myokaku-ji Temple and take photos as well. The instructors are so kind and fun. A unique experience we won’t forget!

5.00Experiencing the Samurai program at Myokakuji Temple was truly one of the most memorable parts of our Japan trip. The experience was immersive, authentic, and very well organized from start to finish. A special thanks to Sensei Kazuka Naito and Sensei Kesuke Irie for making the session both educational and enjoyable. Their passion, discipline, and professionalism really stood out throughout the training. They patiently guided us through samurai etiquette, sword handling, and techniques while also sharing the deeper meaning behind the samurai spirit and traditions. Being able to wear traditional attire and train inside the peaceful atmosphere of the temple made the experience feel incredibly special and culturally enriching. It was not only fun and exciting, but also respectful and meaningful. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kyoto and looking for a unique cultural experience that goes beyond the usual tourist activities. An unforgettable experience that we will definitely cherish.
