Within just ten minutes after leaving Bergen, we’re already out of the city and surrounded by beautiful scenery. A little later, the road follows the idyllic Osterfjord, with Osterøy — Northern Europe’s largest inland island — on the left-hand side. At the narrowest point of the fjord, you’ll spot the elegant suspension bridge that connects Osterøy to the mainland.
After about an hour on the road, we arrive at the scenic Blåbærsletta. This is the perfect spot to stretch your legs, take a bathroom break, and—most importantly—soak in the views of the Fusafjord. We spend about 15 minutes here, enjoying a refreshing pause in nature’s embrace. From Blåbærsletta, we drive through beautiful fjord and mountain scenery towards the Hardangerfjord. On narrow roads, we pass lush valleys and charming small villages, where you can catch a glimpse of local life. Keep your eyes open for the many waterfalls plunging down the mountainsides—an impressive sight that truly shows the power of nature. As we get closer to the Hardangerfjord, the landscape gradually opens up, offering wide panoramic views across the fjord.

I was hesitant to book a group trip, but I had a lovely experience. Everything was well-paced for the day, travel was comfortable and our guide, V, was great. The hike itself is self-paced so you can all go as fast or slow as you like. I have a bad knee and I managed the hike just fine. It's an easy path that goes at a slight incline on the way to the lake, but it's very manageable. The location was beautiful and I took tons of pictures. I would recommend bringing a small backpack to carry a water bottle. I wish I had brought a few snacks with me, but there are several occasions to buy snacks as well so don't worry if you forget to pack any.

Be prepared for all weathers. We had sunshine, snow, hail and rain all in the same day. It was a fantastic experience. Absolutely beautiful scenery. So glad we decided to go.

What a fantastic trip. The trip was small with 12 people and two guides! Julia ans Nils were fantastic. They gave us lots of information and looked after us all day. The trip to Rosandal for lunch was great with a ferry crossing and a couple of stops. Lunch at Elins cafe in Rosandal was wonderful. Elins is a great chef and baker and a lovely host. The walk to the lake was beautiful and well worth the effort when you got to the Bondhus lake! The views were amazing. The final stop at the waterfall where you could was underneath was brilliant. All in all a great day out with lovely guides and friendly people.

I have taken 100s of excursions but this was unique. Not only was the itinerary breathtaking throughout, our guide Julia was a local and she gave her all! She meticulously shared key points in short segments through the journey. And the most delightful was how she wove in music compositions and Norwegian bands during different segments of the tour - perfect match! We took two ferries, ate authentic Norwegian lunch at beautiful island, let two gorgeous waterfalls sink into our day, hiked through a serene easy path to the glacier lake, and took time of pictures. The public restrooms are so so clean… well paced and creatively designed tour.

I had a fantastic experience on the Bondhus tour - everything about the day was just right. A special thank you to our guides, Julia and Nils, who were truly excellent. They set a comfortable pace throughout the tour and shared plenty of interesting insights along the way, which made the whole experience both relaxing and informative. You can really tell they care about what they do. Also, a big shout out to our driver for getting us safely back to Bergen - much appreciated! Overall, a perfectly organized and enjoyable trip. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.
