When traveling to the Galápagos, we decided to add an extra day in Guayaquil and booked a city tour so we could make the most of our time and feel confident we were in safe hands. The experience did not disappoint. Francisco was an exceptional host—welcoming, knowledgeable, and incredibly thoughtful. He shared the city’s history, customized the tour to match our interests, and made the day feel both relaxed and engaging. He also provided excellent restaurant recommendations that we truly enjoyed. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone heading to the Galápagos who wants to see more of Ecuador but may feel hesitant. Thank you, Francisco, for an amazing day!

I have been to Ecuador several times but never took the time to really tour Guayaquil. My sister & I are senior ladies and I knew a private tour with guide would fit needs & style. I have taken many Viator Tours before in Europe & Asia and always had a great experience. Our guide here was Antonio, he spoke excellent English and met us a warm & friendly personality. I was amazed about his knowledge of the city & its history. He made it all very interesting and knew all the perfect spots for photos. It breaks my heart that people would come to Guayaquil and not take a city tour. The city is beautiful & the guides are excellent. I come from a town in Florida and there are parts of that town that is risky & I’d avoid at night. Guayaquil is like cities all around the world: safe in the majority of the city & should be visited. I would also highly recommend Viator tours and especially Antonio as a guide. For tourists that are also looking for some great photo opportunities, he’s the guy. He’s an excellent photographer!

We had a fabulous tour of Guayaquil with our tour guide Antonio. We saw many different sides of the city from the hilltop view showing the city size, to the walk to the waterfront and the drive to through the old cobblestone streets. Antonio was very knowledgeable and friendly. We leant much about the city, its history and culture and natural aspects. I would highly recommend this tour. Both Antonio and our great driver Andre willing to be very flexible, especially spending more time in places we wanted. Thank you to both Antonio and Andre.

Our tour of Guayaquil was a wonderful experience! Our guide, Mr. Escobar, was so knowledgeable about the history and traditions of the city. My son and I were the only guests on the tour, so our guide made sure to give us an excellent personal experience. Being from the United States with limited Spanish knowledge, it was a plus that he spoke English. He was so personable and was a wealth of information about the people, buildings, food, and culture. We mentioned to him that we wanted to find a place that sold traditional New Year’s Eve paper maché figurines. He then set out to take us to the parts of downtown where the local artisans set up road side shops, and took us around personally until we found the one that we wanted to buy. This was so nice of him! He definitely went above and beyond to make us happy! He insured that our driver returned with the van in a short time and kept our safety first and foremost the entire day. Later on, when he was showing us downtown, he even sang us the national anthem! We hit all of the best parts of Guayaquil. The day was made perfect by Mr. Escobar being our guide. He did an amazing job! I highly recommend him and this company, Protrip.

You can tell Julio loves people and loves to show guests the best Guayaquil has to offer! He taught us about the history, the culture, showed us the best views, pointed out many things we never would have noticed. He told relatable personal stories. He catered to our interests. We couldn’t have asked for a friendlier tour guide. ¡Muchas gracias para todo Julio!!!

We had 4 great hours exploring Guayaquil with Walter and Andres. Walter showed us the best things that Guayaquil has to offer and catered to our needs. We ended the tour with a cup of coffee and cake at a local cafe, which was amazing. We can highly recommend this if you have short time in Guayaquil and want to see the highlight with a guide that knows the history of the town.

This was a lovely 4 hours tour with walking and car transfer. We went to all the places listed, and also a street full of stalls selling paper mache effigies for burning on New Years Eve. These were amazing in creativity and size. The iguana park was great. Who knew that iguanas love banana, and will come up close to get a bite ?(watch your fingers). The walk to the lighthouse viewpoint is up 440 steps, but worth it. I had just arrived with little sleep, and Antonio was such an enthusiatic guide, that I soon forgot my tiredness. There is a lot of talk about Guaylaquil being unsafe. I was comfortable with Antonio as my guide, for a morning walk. But still better not to go out alone at night, as always.
