Alina was a super wonderful guide. Exuberant, knowledgeable and entertaining. We were scheduled for what was called The Hidden Bucharest Tour. However, she modified this tour for us in many ways to make it more entertaining and interesting. She took us to many fascinating buildings in the Old Town area that were not scheduled on the original tour. If you are in Bucharest, seek her out. You’ll have a very enjoyable experience.

We had booked a Private Walking Tour with Alina based on her excellent reviews, and were blown away by her support and communication before the trip had even began! Due to unforeseen health circumstances we had to cancel the tour itself, but she was incredibly understanding and went the extra mile by supporting us with booking medical appointments, translating, liaising etc. - something that she absolutely did not have to do, but did so out of the kindness of her heart. If more people were as kind, efficient and proactive as Alina, the world would be a far better place! Thank you for showing us such generosity of time and thoughtfulness!

I booked through Civitatis with whom I had already done other tours in other capitals. Daniela the guide made us visit Bucharest looking at it from the eyes of the inhabitants. A wonderful and personal experience! Good, competent, engaging even with my teenage children. Highly recommended.

Fantastic view of some of Bucarest main highlights during a whole day for me and my 12 year old daughter. We learned a lot and my daughter never got bored. Alina’s French is perfect and make all stories interesting.

Alina was the best! She is very knowledgeable and interesting and also a true professional. She worked with me before, during, and after my tour to ensure I had the best visit to Bucharest. She was flexible and adjusted the walking tour for my walking speed and interests. Even after the tour, she had suggestions for my free time. Her recommendations were all fantastic. This was my third visit to Bucharest, and she introduced me to new sides of Bucharest I had not seen before. I most highly recommend When in Bucharest!

This tour with Elena went very well. It was very interesting. It gave us historical, architectural elements as well as contemporary information. This gives us a better understanding of the country and those who live there. To do rather in stay. Elena is very interesting and very nice. She gave us ideas for visits for our stay. Thank you for this lovely visit

This was hands down one of the best guided tours I’ve ever experienced. From the very first contact, the communication and support from Alina was outstanding. She went far beyond what you’d normally expect from a tour operator — helping us with restaurant recommendations, local customs, museum suggestions, tipping etiquette, weather updates, and even assisting personally with organizing a birthday cake for our group. Everything was handled with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. On the day of the tour, our guide Ana was absolutely exceptional. She is an incredible storyteller with perfect English, excellent communication skills, and a deep passion for Bucharest and its history. The tour was informative, engaging, well-paced, and full of cultural insights — not just facts, but real context that helped us understand Romania’s past and present. We were a group of 13 people, and everything was perfectly organized, starting directly from our hotel. Ana kept the entire group engaged and made the city come alive through her stories. If you are looking for a private walking tour in Bucharest with a highly professional team and an outstanding guide, I cannot recommend this experience enough. Ana is a true asset, and the entire team sets a very high standard for guided tours. Thank you for an unforgettable experience! Archie and his friends
