Bruno was a wealth of knowledge about the Douro Valley. He picked us up promptly at our hotel and we visited two exceptional wine producers. Bruno educated us about the wine of the region and how it’s typically made. We fell in love with everything we tasted, especially the small production ports. He also took us to a traditional restaurant for lunch and recommended an exceptional local wine to pair with our meal. Finally, we visited a very special church that was breathtaking. On top of teaching us about the region, Bruno was funny, accessible, kind and thoughtful. What a delightful way to spend a day in the Douro!

I really feel like we saw the best of the Douro Valley…the 2 authentic small wineries, the oranges and lemons ripe on the trees, old vines on terraces, misty clouds in the valley and even some snow on the mountains. Through it all Bruno told us stories about the wine and the people of the Douro. It was definitely a five star experience

We had such a great time on this excursion. The Douro Valley is breathtaking and the winery Bruno took us too was amazing. The Matriarch was a wonderful hostess showing us how the wine was made and the tasting was delicious. We had a great lunch afterwards at a place recommended by Bruno and got to sample wild boar and ox and roasted goat. Thanks Bruno for an amazing day!

Bruno was a delight! He was very knowledgeable and his access to the smaller vineyards was a huge plus. It was great to be able to converse with the people who run the vineyards one on one.

Bruno was an excellent tour guide. He grew up in the area and took us on the back roads and to small communities to give us a good perspective. We visited two local wineries and had a good tasting at one. At the second, the owner and Isabelle gave us a personal tour followed by a nice lunch they prepared and another good wine tasting. Bruno picked us up and dropped us off at our lodging in Peso de Regua. He was able to provide lots of background on the area as we drove around the Douro Valley. It was better than anything we could have planned on our own.

We spent a delightful day as Bruno guided us through beautiful vineyards and on tiny mountain roads to two very small family wineries ( not normally open to the public) that made fantastic wines and ports. In addition to sampling numerous wines at each winery and enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by one of the winery owners, we had the opportunity to speak with both winemakers regarding their family histories, their wineries and their wines. Bruno is knowledgeable and friendly, and showed us a great time.

My daughter and I can’t imagine a better day touring Douro! Bruno is wealth of knowledge of the wine region and all things Portugal. To top it off, he is charming, attentive and engaging. We had a private tour and wine tasting in 2 small, private wineries. We enjoyed a delicious traditional Sunday meal at a charming restaurant in a small town in Douro Valley. We saw breathtaking views. We highly recommend this tour. It was the highlight of our holiday in Porto.

We are normally rather thrifty on vacations, but it was a special occasion, so we thought we would splurge on this tour. Some friends of ours recommended Bruno to us. It was SO worth it! It was such a relief for my husband not to have to be the designated driver and just sit back and enjoy the wine tastings and not worry. And I didn't have to be the navigator! Bruno took us to two very small, obscure wineries. I don't think we would have ever found them on our own. The wines were great, the pours were very generous, and we enjoyed the experience at both wineries. At the second one, we had a great, rustic lunch (with more wines). Bruno was both informative and engaging with his information about the area, culture, and wine-making. We also stopped at a spectacular lookout point, and at the end of the day, we went to the beautiful church in Lamego. We felt like we'd met a friend that day, not just a tour guide. I highly recommend taking this tour with Bruno.

This tour was top notch - Bruno created a unique and amazIng experience for our family in the Douro Valley. We visited two gorgeous family owned private wineries with fabulous wines poured generously, spectacular aged ports and delicious local cuisine at each stop. Bruno is a true local who shares the history and stories of his family and the region. Super fun and engaging person. Oh and the views are just off the charts. Our highest recommendation!

An unbelievable day! My wife and I had a full day private tour with Bruno. We had an expectation of magnificent views, wine/port vineyard tastings, and a relaxing day. Bruno did not disappoint! We were treated to two small vineyards...where one owner shared her home and the other their operation and wine/port making process...very personal and very lovely people. Many tastings, and special Portuguese lunch experiences...unforgetable. We ended up having wine/port shipped back to the US...including a very special bottle of 1858 port...magnificent! Driving the area provided many great views as well. Bruno is very personable, knowledgeable, and respected, and shares his love of the Douro Valley. It is clear his relationships with vineyard owners is very special. Being in Portugal for two weeks...our day with Bruno in the Douro Valley was a top experience of our trip.
