Instead of taking the motorway route to Monemvasia, we'll enjoy the beautiful coastline after leaving Nafplio and then climb the mountain range of Parnon; with Greek coffee by the water and lunch at a mountain village. Our first break/stop. We'll enjoy a coffee next to the ocean before climbing up the mountain range of Parnon.

Leonidio is as impressive as any town in Greece with its Dafonas Gorge in between the red rock-climbing Parnon mountain. Famous to all Greeks for the sweet eggplant/aubergine.
Monastery of Panagia Elona
A quick stop at the cliff-hanging monastery of Elona. Amazing views of the red mountain rocks.
Kosmas
Kosmas is a small village in the mountains of Arkadia on Mount Parnon at the east coast of the Peloponessos. Our authentic lunch place under the huge plain trees of the traditional main square of the town.
Monemvasia Castle
The Castle Town of Monemvasia is among the most impressive places in Greece. Located on the south eastern side of Peloponnese, Monemvasia was entirely carved on the back side of a sea rock in the Medieval times.

Using stone and wood from the area the technicians' work is so perfect that someone may think that the nature worked on its own.

Delphi Archaeological Museum
The Archaeological Museum of Delphi, one of the most important in Greece, exhibits the history of the Delphic sanctuary, the site of the most famous ancient Greek oracle. Its rich collections are comprised primarily of architectural sculptures, statues, and minor objects donated to the sanctuary. The famous Charioteer belonged to a statuary complex of a chariot run by four horses and included a second male figure. The Sphinx of the Naxians, dated to 560 BC, comprises one of the earliest representations in art of the demonic creature with a lion's body, bird's wings and a woman's head.
Delphi Ancient Town
The sanctuary of Delphi, where the oracle of Apollo spoke, was the site of the omphalos, the 'navel of the world'. Blending harmoniously with the superb landscape and charged with sacred meaning, Delphi in the 6th century B.C. was indeed the religious center and symbol of unity of the ancient Greek world.
The first photo you see when you google "Delphi" but still a place that most tourists miss out on! We don't!

This masterpiece of nature reveals all its glory for centuries as a unique geological phenomenon in beauty and an important monument of Orthodoxy. The Great Meteoron Monastery, built on an imposing rock, is the oldest, the biggest, and the most important among the monasteries of Meteora which are preserved today.
Varlaam Monastery
In 1350 a daring ascetic named Varlaam ascended to the rock. The monastery was named after him. He built three churches, a small cell and a water tank. After his death the rock remained abandoned for about 200 years until 1517 when the two priest-monks Theophanes and Nektarios Apsarades started to construct the first buildings from the beginning.

We have nothing but the highest praise and compliments for Eudaimonia Private Tours for the truly exceptional tour that we experienced and loved in May. Our first contact with Nikos was prompt, professional and full of information. We knew this was the company to secure a booking with, and they delivered everything to the highest of standards. Our charming driver, Panayiotis, was a joy to be with, his knowledge of all things Greek was invaluable. Panayiotis was a great communicator, very timely, and a careful and safe driver. Lunches with Panayiotis were incredible for both the locations and the food. We enjoyed such a variety of traditional, real Greek cuisine, he fed us very well! Accommodation was superb in all locations. Eudaimonia looked after us so well from beginning to end with such attention to detail, and personalised service. We have no hesitation in spreading the word about how exceptional this company is. Thank you Eudaimonia! The Best there is!

From the first contact with Nikos I knew I had made the right choice. Prompt communication, great service and flexible with plans. Even checking in with us while on tour. We had a fabulous time. Theo was a wonderful guide/driver. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Ancient Greek history, knew the best places to eat, so we tried everything, and a great traveling companion. Nothing was too much trouble, even chasing down chilled wine for us to enjoy. Very professional. He made the trip very memorable. The trip was very well put together and the accommodation excellent. Highly recommend.

My friend and I booked a custom 13 day tour with Theo as our guide. We enjoy slow travel to get to really experience a place and so spent two or three nights in each of five hotels, and did not do everything on this tour but did more things customized to our interests and travel style. I completely endorse the comments made by the previous nine reviewers. We feel the same way, so I won't repeat them. However, here are a few things we said to Nikos during or at the end of our trip: "Theo is wonderful. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he is just fun to be with. N***** is interested in the Greek language and he is teaching her a lot. I enjoy a good philosophical conversation, and we have had many. When we ask him questions (we have a lot), he knows the answer. For example, today when I asked, he explained what an icon is and how it fits into prayer. He brings history to life through stories. I could go on and on... Plus he is just a great person. We are having a terrific time :-)" "Thank you, Nikos, for everything that Theo and you have done to make our trip an incredible one. I do not have the words to say how much we enjoyed this trip. You spent the time listening to what we wanted and planned the perfect trip for us. Theo is a remarkable guide and a fantastic human being. He made us feel like cherished friends who were visiting Greece for the first time. He will stay in my heart forever." And from my traveling companion: "Nikos - Let me add my voice to E*****’s eloquent thanks. We had a fabulous trip with Theo as a fabulous guide. He could not have been more attentive and accommodating, answering torrents of questions on everything from philosophy to philology. We we truly indulged! I too will never forget it. " If you want an absolutely stress free trip with great people who go above and beyond to give you a wonderful experience, I highly recommend that you book your trip with Eudaimonia Private Tours

We spent 8 days traveling mostly in the Peloponnese Peninsula with Theo. It could not have been better. Theo was informative, considerate and a delight to be with. The itinerary they planned for us (always with our input) was exactly what we hoped for and perfect in every way. We saw the sites we were interested in, stayed in a wonderful variety of accommodations and a major highlight was the lunches Theo ordered for us in local Greek restaurants every day. Thank you Theo for showing us such a good time!

What a fantastic introduction to Greece. Theo was our appointed driver/guide and his performance of his duties was faultless. Friendly, engaging in conversation but also having that unique quality to know when to shut up and just let the clients enjoy what was in front of them. The highest praise we Australians can give a man is to just say “ He’s a good bloke”. That phrase applies unreservedly to Theo. We allowed Theo to order all our lunches and our only disappointment is that he won’t be with us for the balance of our trip. His knowledge of each restaurants menu was mouth watering. There was some flexibility in our itinerary which allowed us to fully enjoy our time. Pre trip planning was done with Nikos and his interaction with us was at the highest level of professionalism. If you are contemplating touring this area talk to this company, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Our time with Nikos and discovering Greece for the first time through his tour was one of the most extraordinary weeks we've ever spent traveling. Nikos met us early in the morning at the port after we disembarked from a cruise. Our cruise included visits to Rhodes, Ephesus, Santorini and Mykonos. We planned to spend two weeks in Greece after the cruise, but had not yet planned it out. During the cruise we chatted with residents of Greece who shared with us to not re-visit the islands, but to explore mainland and the Peloponnese areas, which led us to search for resources, then finding Nikos. Nikos (Eudaimonia Tours) planned everything for us, including hotels, lunches in non-touristy areas each day, suggestions for dinner spots and even the best waysides during the drives for the best panoramic vistas. His flexibility in building our tour was greatly appreciated. Our time with Nikos showed us attributes of Greece we had never imagined, from the very mountainous areas, the expansive countryside, the endless olive trees, orange groves and stunning seaside villages. The historical sites, their expansiveness, and similarities from site to site was mind-blowing. To realize civilizations created such complex, ordered and successful cities was beyond imagination. During the drives to these sites Nikos shared his knowledge of history/mythology, but also shared personal information, as we shared ours. It was a magical week, spending time with Nikos in Greece, and learning about his country. We highly recommend this excursion, and suggest you leave all details to Nikos.

This tour was above and beyond expectations, with every aspect being well thought out, well executed and well managed by the tour operators and tour guide. Our guide Theo managed our group of 4 adults (2 couples) with great courtesy and diplomacy, while touring us through the antiquities of Greece and its multitude of archeological sites. Prior to out tour the manager of EUDAIMONIA Tours, Nikos, had contacted us multiple times in Canada by phone as well as e-mail to ensure that our guided tour would meet our satisfaction in every detail. His efforts succeeded! We feel that our 7 day, 6 night tour was extremely well planned … we were pleased in every reguard.I should mention that this company has extended their efforts to ensure a complete and well rounded exposure to Greek cuisine, by catering an amazing lunch every day, replete with beverages as desired, to enhance the experience through exposure to local cuisine in every town where we stopped mid-day! OVERALL, this was the very best small group tour that I have participated in, and I would encourage anyone interested in touring Greece to contact EUDAIMONIA Tours!

Nikos was a fantastic guide/driver: he adapted the tour to suit our specific requirements (older couple who’d visited Peloponnese/Attica previously) and younger couple(for whom this was a first) and organised our accommodation in a variety of interesting, enjoyable places; chose lunch venues to ensure we tasted a range of styles and local specialities and happily catered to specific food preferences. Nothing was too much trouble. He took really good care of us and made sure we saw much more than the major tourist sites (although we had the chance to see those as well). The older and less agile in our party were also well considered while the younger members had the opportunity to explore more challenging terrain and sites. He was also enjoyable and pleasant company and we would very happily tour with him again. Other staff members of Eudaimonia with whom we came into contact were also lovely. It was a lovely tour and an absolute highlight of our recent 5 weeks away. Nikos showed us several places and venues we’d love to get back to for an extended visit, and many other places we’d never have found on our own.

We had the most amazing time travelling though Greece with Theo from EUDAIMONIA private tours. It was everything and more than we expected visiting this beautiful country. This was our visit to Greece and wanted to experience authentic, off the beaten track Greece and the 7 day 6 night tour certainly delivered just that. The Peloponnese peninsula was beyond expectations with every turn on this beautiful peninsula and then on to Meteora and Delphi. Hotels which was exceptional and the lunches were included in the tour and Theo went above and beyond ensuring we experienced as much of the local cuisine as possible and did not fail to deliver. Each day spent with Theo was an absolute adventure, Theo certainly has a great knowledge of his country and it’s history. This was also our first introduction to Greek coffee and Freddo espresso which we had to stop for each day and then continued for the duration of our time in Greece. Nikos (owner) went above and beyond assisting us with additional information during and prior to our stay with ferries, hotels, flights, car hire etc. and cannot thank him enough for always being available, answering all my questions with the utmost patience and care. I cannot recommend this company more if your looking for a ultimate Greek experience, EUDAIMONIA is the only option. We cannot wait to return and explore more of this beautiful country and it will most definitely be with EUDAIMONIA.
