What To Expect
Sihanoukville
We will pick-up you from either Sihanoukville Port Gate 2 or the Independence Monument, depending on the drop-off location provided by the cruise's complimentary shuttle service for its passengers. Please take this free shuttle bus when you get off from your cruise ship and they will take you to the drop off point where we will meet you with a signage under your name printed.
Then set off to The Independence Monument in Sihanoukville, built in 1985, honors Cambodia's independence and those who sacrificed their lives in past conflicts. Located on Ekareach Street between the city center and Victory Hill, it sits within a small park. Next to the monument is a shrine used for religious festivals. Featuring a lotus-shaped stupa in traditional Khmer style, it serves as a symbol of national pride and a key landmark for visitors.

5.00Interesting tour. We knew everything about the daily life of people from the fishing village to the local market. The visit to the natural waterfall was interesting although it is not the high waterfall one can expect from its name. Construction projects are everywhere as well as chineese companies, resturants, hotels and overall casinos.

2.00Local tour operator did not have someone at the appointed location (Gate #1 at the harbor), Other tour operators looked at our paperwork and contacted the tour operator who found a similar group with the same itinerary for us to join. The tour guide's English was limited and he was hard to understand. Also, he did not provide much useful information on the sites we were visiting. However, they did take us to most of the sites, plus a trip out to some waterfalls outside town that most tours do not go to.

5.00We had a day in this city. Our driver and tour guide were really friendly and took us to the most remote beaches where we spent time enjoying the beautiful white sandy beach in Prang Trang. We also visited the fishing village. Sadly the city itself was a place we would rather not visited as it was a huge building site invaded by the Chinese and so much dust and dirt that we would sincerely advise visitors to avoid going - at least for the next 5 years... but you must visit instead the shores and the beaches and islands in the Golf of Thailand ....true beauty!!
