Then set off to The Independence Monument in Sihanoukville, built in 1985, honors Cambodia's independence and those who sacrificed their lives in past conflicts. Located on Ekareach Street between the city center and Victory Hill, it sits within a small park. Next to the monument is a shrine used for religious festivals. Featuring a lotus-shaped stupa in traditional Khmer style, it serves as a symbol of national pride and a key landmark for visitors.

Samun was an excellent guide! We saw an amazing working fishing pier, spectacular temple, a busy market of local products and had a relaxing time at a private beach. Samun was so informative throughout the tour at introducing us to Cambodia!

Our guide Chang(?) was very efficient and informative, the meet at the pickup point went to plan. The first stop at the temple was a highlight, very beautiful. The market is fascinating but very hot on the day of our visit. The beach is attractive and we had a good meal at a very reasonable price at the restaurant recommended. The only negative was that my wife decided to stay on the bus whilst we visited the second temple because she didn’t want to climb the steps. Unfortunately the driver didn’t realise she was still in the buss, he locked her in without the air conditioner running. She was not amused, so just a warning if you decide to stay on the bus make sure that the driver is aware. 1 mark off for this otherwise I would have gig the excursion a 5.
