Set out to a fascinating journey to Timgad or Thamugadi known by its original name, founded in 100 AD by Trajan to the veterans of Rome, back in time to see and explore one of the enormous Roman ruins known as the Pompeii of Africa and were once buried under the sand.
One hour and a half from Constantine, roughly 130 Km by car you will get to the vast ruins of Timgad is known for its huge size, about 50 hectares, symmetrical grid plan and two main oriented streets, large forum, baths, library and imposing Capitol with an incredible state of preservation.
In this Timgad tour ,you’ll walk through the eerily abandoned streets of the ancient city and see one of the most spectacular structures in Roman Africa and with the help of our guides they will be able to bring the ruins dramatically to life and you’ll gain a unique insight into domestic life in antiquity.

Iltenerary : - Departure from the hotel at 9am - Arrival in the roman ruins at 11.30am or 12 pm visit the ruins - Visit the museum - Drive back to Constantine *For lunch, your guide will take you to the restaurant.

5.00For a person who's interested in Roman ruin but not so much of a history buff like myself, the day tour to Timgad was very well arranged. The guide spoke good English and was very professional. He introduced me the culture of Algeria and explained the history of Timgad. I specially liked the restaurant they took me for lunch, where I tried very nice local food.

5.00My private tour to Timgad was amazing. Bilel was my guide and he was fantastic. Knowledgeable on the history of Timgad and the surrounding area. The tour was paced well and was not rushed at all. They picked me up at the airport and we drove to the site. Bilel explained the history and unique aspects of what we were seeing. He was the best. Then we had a delicious lunch at a local place that was so enjoyable. After this we went to the mausoleum of Nimidie and then to the Constantine airport for departure. I will return for sure and request Bilel again.

5.00On begin of December i made my trip to Algeria. I travel mostly on my own but for several topics of my trip I used the services of Fancyellow Trvael Agency - trips to Timgad, Cherchell-Tipasa and in cooperation with local agency Mouflon to Tamanrasset - Assekrem.
