Watch Japan’s unique and traditional sport Sumo with a knowledgeable tour guide.
If you are in Japan in July, you should not miss it!(the tournaments take place 6 times a year; 3 times in Tokyo, once in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka respectively. Each tournament lasts for 15 days. )
If you'd like to see sumo, it takes about two hours by Shinkansen from Tokyo, and about one hour by Shinkansen from Kyoto. Why not take this opportunity to visit Nagoya to watch sumo?
Meet your English speaking guide and walk to the stadium. Your guide will talk you through what is Sumo, its history and rules before entering the stadium and give you additional tips in between the bouts.
Feel the intense, serious atmosphere of the tournament while you are free to grab some beer, Yakitori(skewers), etc.. at the vendor inside the stadium and eat/drink at your seat. *Food and drinks are not included in this tour.

This is a group tour. We will leave on time, so please make sure to be there on time!
No changes or refunds of any kind can be made less than 24 hours prior to the tour start time.
Children 3 years old and under can enter for free, however they will not have their own seat and will need to sit on your lap. Children 4 years and up must have their own tickets.
Large luggage cannot be brought into the seat.
Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
What To Expect
We will meet at Meijo Koen station. Your guide will have a green sign board saying "Japan Wonder Travel"
We will walk to the IG Arena and watch Sumo wrestling with English speaking guide.

5.00We had such a fantastic at the Sumo Grand Tournament in Nagoya! Our guide, Joji, was a wonderful host and he really made this experience not only exciting but educational. He took the time to sit with us, explain the rules of Sumo and how the Tournament works. He also gave us lots of background info on the wrestlers, which helped us really appreciate the athletic styles and personalities of the Sumo wrestlers. We had excellent seats, and a perfect view of the action, and all the details of the day were handled on our behalf making this an stress-free and full enjoyable day! I’d highly recommend this excursion to anyone interested in experiencing an authentic part of Japanese culture!

5.00Attending a sumo tournament was a great experience for me. Erika was really informative and educated us about how the tournament worked and the rituals involved with sumo. Sumo is much more than just two wrestlers fighting! There’s the ring-entering ceremony, purifying the ring, cleansing themselves, attracting the gods, driving away evil spirits and the twirling the bow ceremony to close the tournament. Erika even took us to the souvenirs department where I got something to remember this sumo tournament. I loved it and definitely want to go again! Anyone who comes to Japan needs to see a sumo tournament as it is an important part of the Japanese culture. And I really appreciated having a guide like Erika, who taught me about the sumo process. I learned a lot and had a blast!

5.00My boyfriend and I had a great experience visiting the Nagoya Grand Sumo tournament in July 2025. It was organized really well. We met just opposite the stadium and had a short introductory talk to Sumo by our amazing host Shoko. We had the chance to ask lots of questions. Then we went over to the stadium and found our seats which were great too! Great view! Shoko sat right next to us and answered all of our questions during the Sumo fights as well. I would recommend this experience to anyone who would like to learn more about Sumo on top of watching the fights
