Looe
Set in the fictional Devonshire seaside town of Shipton Abbott, it is actually filmed in Looe in Cornwall. Stroll along the picturesque harbour and explore the winding streets of the historic town centre as you follow in the footsteps of DI Humphrey Goodman. The tour stops outside the Guildhall, which was used as the police station, and see some of the local shops and restaurants that have been featured in the show, including The Sail Loft restaurant. Part of the tour also passes by the town’s very own working fish market, which has been featured in the series. Walk along the East Looe River, which can be seen in a river chase scene in the first series of the show. One of the highlights of the tour is a stop at East Looe Beach, one of Southern Cornwall’s popular, sandy beaches. There you can breathe in the salty sea air and understand why the cast and crew enjoyed filming in this idyllic location in the South West of England.

The experience was in Looe and was the last of the season. George led our group in a professional, interesting manner. He made sure we were safe in our one-and-a-half hour gentle walk and stopped at various locations, giving details, explanations and descriptions of the filming in Looe of Beyond Paradise. Photo opportunities were also offered and George spoke in a clear, loud voice for all in the group to hear. Thank you, George. Highly recommend.

George our guide was very entertaining and engaging. He had inside knowledge on many aspects of the program. His commentary throughout the tour was very well presented. He pointed out many of the places where scenes had taken place. He introduced us to Dave who is with the RNLI and appeared as the skipper on one of the episodes. Being a local George is well know in the area with many people stopping to say hello to him. Would highly recommend this tour. Dave and Annette

Very interesting and informative. George was very knowledgeable, not only about the Beyond Paradise series, but also the history of Looe itself. As this tour was at the end of the season it was just myself and my husband.

Great tour with George, knew his stuff having worked on the show before and gave a really enjoyable experience. Gutted to just miss seeing Kris Marshall and some of the cast as they were filming there! Highly recommended for those avid Beyond Paradise fans!

I loved every minute of it. The price for me for the tour was worth it. I liked that the meeting point for the tour was the train station, especially for those who arrived by train to the place for the first time, even though the town it's not too big to get lost and there's a pointers everywhere if you need to. There's no specific age group to attend the tour, off course if you're a teen you maybe might need and adult supervision, but again I wouldn't really know. I our tour guide, that's George btw, gave us plenty of time if we wanted to take pictures or ask more questions, he was really great and patient with us. I have no words to describe how beautiful the town is, the little shops, the cafe's and the restaurants I just wish I had more time to explore. On our tour was, I think, 20 of us and it didn't felt crowded, it definitely added the energy for the tour. As it is was my first time in town and for just the tour I cannot really recommend the quieter spots or times it's best for visit. As it happens the tour we had was just 2 days away from the weekend festival the town about to have. So the streets were bit more busier as they were preparing for it and some parts of the beach were closed for the public, as that's were the festival was about to happen.

As we have been coming to Looe for the last few years, we realised that beyond paradise was filmed in this beautiful town, over the years of seeing the programme and visiting, we we’re guessing where it was being filmed. After the tour we saw various part of the town we had not been in and learned a lot more of its history. The trip was very informative and and the way George had delivered it it was excellent and funny too keeping the group involved and interested throughout.
