2 Hour Big 5 Walker Bay Sea Safari On our Big 5 Sea Safari we are targeting Whales, Dolphin, Seals, Penguin and Marine Birds. Trips run 10am & 1pm Weather and Passenger Dependent - Min 8 - Max of 25 passengers! Join the Ivanhoe team for what will undoubtedly be a memorable 2hr Big 5 Sea Safari. Our goal is to target Walker Bay's Big 5, Whale, Dolphin, Seal, Penguin and Marine birds. We depart from the harbor of Gansbaai and cruise along the scenic route passing the cliffs of De Kelders and De Platt Beach. Observe the stunning coast line, contrasting white beach's with the blue skies and chameleon waters that stretch for miles from Gansbaai to Hermanus, we then set course and head out into the middle of the bay in search of our Big 5. On your journey our crew will educate you on all aspects of marine life, with a qualifying marine biologist and a skipper with over 15yrs experience there is a wealth of knowledge for you to tap. No trip is the same and we can never guarantee what you will see, we hope to spot our local Big 5, but there is also so much more marine mammal and bird life on offer.

5.00It was an absolutely priceless experience, the smaller authentic boat allows you to get closer to the marine life and I believe the whales feel less threatened and more curious. They came really close to the boat. The way the Captain leads the tour is great, his funny and really educated in his craft. I would definitely recommend this company to everyone!

5.00Really enjoyed the tour. The crew were professional and informative. We saw penguins, seals and a Bryde whale, lots of birds as well. The views are beautiful, seating is comfortable and fortunately when we went the sea was calm. It makes perfect sense that you might not see anything and we are grateful that we did.

2.00Booked a trip with Ivanhoe for an afternoon tour. The trip kept getting put off and eventually settled for an early morning one that my 6 year old was not keen on but she loves whales. While boarding overheard a crew member say that they were out the day before which was ordinary after been cancelled on twice already! The tour was so disappointing as they spent the first 1.25hrs looking at seals and dolphins which were everywhere and then had no time to look for whales. No whales!!!!

5.00Great trip today, excellent safety briefing (shame all the guests didn’t listen), advised from the outset we might only see birds & seals and we did. Unfortunately there was a technical glitch but the great crew kept everyone informed & got everyone back in safely. Highly recommend.
