During the months of January and February, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia will close the accesses to the hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. The viewpoints will remain open as normal.

Nice spots, clean bus, friendly tour guide. The bodega was disappointing: it was not possible to taste and compare different wines, we got just one glas. That was it.

Great mix of experiences from Gernika to the coastal towns to the hike to the island church! The hike is a challenge but well worth it. Aman was a terrific guide, providing good background on the various sites we saw, especially in Gernika, including an explanation of what we were looking at. He was also very accurate in his cautions on the hike to the church (looooong name). He was also always helpful with questions. The driver (Sergio) was also terrific, taking that big bus down roads I’d have found challenging in a car. I do regret that I wasn’t able to tip them, and if there is a way to do that, please contact me.
