Early tour time: Sunset & bioluminescence Tour
While the sun is setting, our friendly guides lead you on an amazing evening clear kayak or paddle board adventure on the Lagoon. We'll also walk in shallow waters to interact with the bioluminescence.
Search for stingrays and other marine life such as dolphins and manatees as the sun sets.
After sunset, we'll paddle into the night as dinoflagellates bioluminescence illuminates the water and fish below us.
Later tour time: Bioluminescence & Stargazing
At this launch time, it is very dark and the stars shine bright against the night sky as the bioluminescence glows below us.
**Tours may be delayed up to 1 hour to allow weather to pass**
**We have 2 locations. If severe weather occurs, you will be notified of the new location.**
When dinoflagellate bioluminescence season ends, comb jelly bioluminescence season begins! Then, you will also be given high powered multi-colored LED lighting systems for your vessel to further enjoy the glow.

Merritt Island
Our guides will take you on a beautiful night time adventure into Bioluminescence on the Indian River Lagoon. You will learn to kayak or paddleboard with our instructors as the sun sets and creates a beautiful palette of pinks, oranges and blues. We paddle out to horseshoe crab island and watch the sun set on another day in paradise. Explore the island with your group and meet new friends. Take this time to walk on the sand bar to look for wildlife such as horseshoe crabs and bioluminescent comb jellies. Cup the water in your hands and watch the brilliant stars appear! Take a short swim in the bioluminescence and make your own "glow angels". After the sun sets, the magic of bioluminescence begins. It's hard to describe the beautiful colors of bioluminescence. The fish glow an otherworldly blue as they swim below your paddleboard or kayak. It's an incredibly magical experience. This experience is 2 hours from start to finish with 1.5 hours of guaranteed time on the water.

My husband and I enjoyed this excursion! The location was changed rather last minute (advertised it was possible), but Viator reps were reachable by telephone and got us to where we needed to be in time for the excursion start time. However, others were not so lucky. Because of having to wait an extended time for others who did not get the location update, some gave up because of the delay it took to get everyone to get to the alternate launch destination. The guides were extremely friendly and accommodating. The excursion was a "bucket list" for me, and was thrilled to have yet another.pleasurable Viator offering!

The guide was very professional and knowledgeable. He was extremely informative about the area, the animals involved in bioluminescence, and other local animals. Bob was excellent.

Disappointed the concept was cute but nothing like the pictures. We barely seen anything bioluminescent except the little jelly’s. If I knew we would barely see it I wouldn’t have booked it. Plus we got bit up by mosquitos so bad definitely not worth it sorry :(.

Really cool to see the water light up - be prepared to swim as a choice to engage with the water more. Kayaks weren't the most comfortable but other than that great time.

Bring swimming clothes to make glow angels. Lots of fun seeing the water light up with any touch to it.

We were a hesitant bunch, but I’m so glad I dragged my adult kids along — we had a fantastic time! Mike was the perfect host, blending humor with fascinating history about the place and aqueducts. He taught us to paddle, the kids loved balancing on the boards, and the city views were beautiful. Best of all, it felt safe and worry-free!

Fantastic! Savanah and Bryce were super. Wonderful experience. No moon so we had top visibility! The group was also small (8 kayaks).

Far too many kayakers in our group lights were only in one small area and barely viable, nothing at all like the advertised pictures. Def not worth the $ and def would not do again.
