What To Expect
We spend 4 hours bird watching, there we will likely see such species as the Sword Billed Hummingbirds, Barred Fruit Eater, Scarlet bellied Mountain Tanager, Black Chested Mountain Tanager, Rufus Antpitta and many many more. Marcelo, your experienced guide will bring scopes and binoculars and his finely tuned bird calls, you need good camera and patience ! All transport and food included.

5.00Perfect. We saw many beautiful species. Guide very competent, kind and generous. He has the eye. He recognizes the species by their call the locates them with his scope. He served us fruit, bread, coffee tea.

5.00Organized by a couple, this tour is great! They provide long-sighted and binoculars. They're planning breakfast on a lookout. You can see lots of birds (toucans, quetzals, hummingbirds, parrots...). They also give explanations about medicinal plants. They are super nice and attentive. They speak Spanish and English. I recommend!

5.00Marcelo is a wonderful guide with some much knowledge of birds. I visited his private reserve and saw toucans, hummingbirds, and so many others I can’t recall 😊. Coffee and a light breakfast are provided. Please book this experience when you are in Mindo!

5.00Our family had such a special experience with Marcelo. We left early and were able to see many different species of birds. Marcelo had so much information to share with us and was able to spot so many different birds hiding in the forest. We were grateful for the time we shared with him and his wife and all of the knowledge of the area he shared. We will come back for another tour with Marcello in the future!

5.00We birded with Marcelo for 5 days. He arranged everything and it was an exceptional experience. He not only is great birder but he knows and shares so much more. About the plants, the culture and how to digiscope with your phone. He’s a master of that too! After 5 days we consider him a friend and look forward to seeing him again.

5.00An early start, and due to the steady overnight rain we were a bit ambivalent about that the experience would hold. A slight drizzle as we set off, and by the time we got to the viewing platform, it was overcast but dry. Marcelo had binoculars for everyone, so we didn't have ti share, which certainly added to the experience. There were hummingbirds aplenty, but the "main attractions" were a little slow off the mark - due to the damp weather. However, once the tanagers and toucans came into play, it was amazing!! We saw soo many! After about 90 minutes at the platform (including coffee and rolls) we went for a walk, and Marcelo was able to show us a quetzal and a cock-of-the-rock. Also saw an agouti and a tayra near the platform. All in all, an awesome morning!

5.00We went with Marcelo in our birding trip in Mindo. He know very well about the environment and finds birds everywhere. It's a lot of fun seeing so many beautiful birds, including a magical place to see cock of the rock. He is very passionate to conserve the nature. And mostly, he help us take great pictures from his scope. Highly recomend Marcelo!
