  We had a great time! Oswaldo, or biologist, was very knowledgeable, patient, and persistent while looking for birds. Our driver, Sebastian, drove safely and showed a ton of patience navigating the horrible Bogota traffic. The Florida wetlands was full of birds and with some persistence we found the rail that we wanted. Tabacal had awesome birds. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot we were birding. Lifers for us everywhere. It was a great use of our limited time in Bogota.

  I had an excellent day birding in the Bogota area with Oswaldo Cortes, who certainly knows his birds. We visited Florida Wetland, Laguna el Tabacal and Jardin Encantado and saw great birds at each site.

  I went on two tours with Oswaldo around Bogota. We had a driver (critical for dealing with Bogota's crazy traffic) and both days included breakfast and lunch. On the first day we went to La Vega and on the second to Chingaza. Both yielded a bunch of great birds. Oswaldo was patient, going at a pace that was comfortable for me. Highly recommended.

  Bogota Birding was great in every way!! They were very prompt in answering my initial email, and work with me before my visit to make sure I saw the most bird species possible. Juan Carlos was my guide for the 2 full day trips. He picked me up at my Air BnB both mornings, he was very easy to hang out with, and the right balance of serious about seeing all the birds and still focused on just having fun in Colombia!! We ate great food both days and drank wonderful coffee, laughed a lot and saw some real jewels! I really appreciated their attention as I was planning my trip, and their care and

  Good experience with Oswaldo. Trip and transport was well organized. Got photos of the Bogota Rail a sulky and elusive bird. Also Black-faced Hermit and Speckle-breasted Wren ..... both hard to find.

  Since I was unsure if I would have any opportunity for birding during a recent group tour in Colombia, I arranged to arrive a day early in order to do a private daylong birding tour through Bogota Birding. Communication with the company was always timely and detailed, up to an including the day before my scheduled tour when itinerary changes needed to be made because one destination was going to be closed due to a holiday. I was picked up within minutes of the scheduled start time by Hernan and we headed to Laguna el Tabacal, with stops on the way both for coffee and a pastry and then a proper breakfast. I am an amateur birder, and Hernan's assistance both in locating and identifying birds was invaluable to me. I particularly enjoyed seeing varieties of tanagers and warblers with which I was unfamiliar. En route back to Bogota, we detoured a bit to visit Jardin Encantado, where hummingbirds were in abundance (if not as many different varieties as I was hoping to see). On the way home, I enjoyed my conversation with Hernan that extended beyond birding to a good introduction to life in Colombia today. Bogota Birding offers a number of day trips as well as multi-day birding tours. I'd highly recommend their services.

  3 very interesting places to see birds (of which the Bogota Rail in La Florida) near Bogotá. The organization of Bogota Birding is excellent and Camilo (guide) is very professional. He recommended it 100%.

  I had a great day of birding with Oswaldo on June 30, 2023. It was unfortunate that our main destination for the day, Tabacal Lagoons, was closed on short notice for an unscheduled event. But thanks to Oswaldo's knowledge and experience we made the best of it, and from the nearby area as well as three other birding locations, I managed to see 86 species including 10 lifers. Many birders would have seen many more lifers, but I have previously birded several times before in Ecuador and Venezuela. I also got many great photos that day. I shared my eBird checklist from La Florida with Oswaldo already. I would definitely consider booking a birding trip with Bogota Birding the next time I come to Colombia.

  I would strongly recommend Bogota Birding to anyone visiting the Bogota area with an interest in birds. Oswaldo (guide) and Alex (driver) provided a very professional service and were good company. Oswaldo proved himself excellent at finding the target species, and the whole experience was a pleasure.

  Absolutely brilliant day birding with León from Bogotá Birding. I am an enthusiastic amateur and usually try and get a day dedicated to birding into my trips so when I found these guys I was an easy sale. Absolutely outstanding day out from Bogotá. Saw roughly 70 lifers for me and Leon was superb at finding and identifying the birds. Wouldn’t hesitate to use again or recommend.
