Learn about the land speed racing that takes place here, where legendary feats of speed were achieved. We offer this tour in the morning and afternoon to best suit your schedule. Each tour last six hours (including the drive from and back to Salt Lake City) and provides ample time to explore the Salt Flats, with stops at Great Salt Lake State Park and the Tree of Life sculpture – a captivating landmark standing amidst the vast desert landscape. Enjoy a more personal experience with our small-group tour (minimum of 2 guests required).

Great Salt Lake State Park
Your guide will stop at Great Salt Lake State Park on the way to Bonneville Salt Flats and allow you to spend time near the water and in the visitor center.
Metaphor - Tree of Utah
An abstract artistic sculpture called Metaphor: The Tree of Utah (Also called "Tree of Life") stands of the edge of I-80 on the barren Bonneville Salt Flats west of Salt Lake City.

5.00Do not sleep on this tour. It if you're thinking about booking it, do it! Our guide, Travis, was absolutely amazing. He's incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated that he offered to take photos of me with the jaw-dropping scenery. The Salt Flats were out of this world. No wonder movies like Independence Day and Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed there! It was a spectacular experience from start to finish, and I’m already looking forward to booking another tour with Southwest Adventure Tours next time I visit SLC. Highly recommend!

5.00The stories our guide told us about the salt flats were very interesting! It is expensive, I think it was 150.00 per person, but it was well worth it. Beautiful scenery, great stories and interesting facts. It will take up a good portion of your day, 6 hours, but it is a great memory!
