Step back in time to Edinburgh as it was in the late summer of 1745. Robert, our award-winning Edinburgh tour guide, will take you around the Edinburgh Old Town locations, which played a role in one of the most exciting times in Edinburgh's history.
You'll walk in the footsteps of Prince Charles Edward Stewart and his Highland Army. Robert will take you to the places which played a part in the events of the Jacobite army's occupation (or is that 'liberation') of the city. You'll learn about the attempts to hold back the Jacobites, the obstacles Bonnie Prince Charlie faced, and how he finally took the city.

5.00Absolutely fantastic tour last month with Robert Howie while in Edinburgh! I have been to Edinburgh before and he took us to places I would probably have not hit on my own. His grasp of the history is incredible and his personality and energy made the time fly by too fast. Highly recommend booking a tour with him whether it is your 1st or 4th time in EDI.

5.00This was a very entertaining and informative tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and was happy to point out other interesting snippets about Edinburgh and the characters in its history as well as giving us a vivid verbal picture of the happenings when Bonnie Prince Charlie took Edinburgh.

5.00We had such an interesting tour telling us about the Jacobites in Edinburgh. Robert is a very informative guide who set the scene so well. We could almost picture the ladies on both sides of the High Street hanging out of the windows waving at their chosen troops. The tour was a joy from start to finish and I would recommend Robert to all. As soon as I can I will go and take another of his walks. Something new to be learned every time. Thank you so much.
