The tour company contacted me the day before stating, “we have upgraded your booking to a CAP Camarat instead of the polynesian outrigger canoe.” They picked us up in a tiny Jeanneau CAP Camarat 7.5 that had absolutely no protection from the weather. Definitely not an upgrade. Luckily, although we hit some light rain the captain was able to skirt around the worst of it. Unfortunately, because of the tiny size of the boat and the choppiness of the water we ended up soaking wet from spray over the gunnels. The captain did swing by the company dock to pick up some towels but by then it was too late. My wife started getting deathly sea sick and we had to head straight to the restaurant. It was a quite overcast so there wasn’t much of a sunset. The restaurant was wonderful, the view beautiful, and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, because of her seasickness, my wife could not hold anything down and we ended up leaving before dessert. The romantic evening I planned was anything but.

This tour is not worth the price. The sunset cruise was basically just picking up other guests for the excursion. And while it was nice to be out on the water, there was no music or guide information, history or anything. The boat drove around for a couple of hours like this and then we stopped for a few minutes for sunset. The dinner at st James was equally disappointing. But the biggest problem with this tour is that they don’t provide transportation back to your hotel unless you’re on the main island. We had arranged for a shuttle back at our own expense but had to be at the dock by 9pm at the latest for the last shuttle. Dinner was progressing fine and we were done eating by 7:30. But for some reason, our server would not provide our check. She kept going from other tables but wouldn’t look at us and we could not get her attention. ($500 did not include a beverage.) Finally I went up to the host stand and asked if she could call our taxi but she informed me they would not come until 8:30. I had to insist they call the taxi early because I was concerned we would not make it in time for the 9pm final shuttle to our hotel. She was clearly irritated at this request and not very kind but they did call the taxi, and we did arrive on time. I feel an excursion of this price should include full transportation both ways. This caused a lot of stress that made it hard to enjoy our evening. I do not recommend this tour.

Nice boat and the host was friendly. Had a nice ride around the best parts of the island. I wasn’t super fond of the prolonged stop at one spot in the direct sun. Would have preferred a brief stop and then move on. Dinner at St James was fabulous. On deck overlooking the water and gorgeous sunset. Food was excellent! Pretty pricey, but that’s French Polynesia.

Our sunset cruise began with a pickup at our hotel, exactly on time. We shared a small boat cruise with just one other couple which was very nice. The captain gave a nice tour of the bora bora lagoon showing us many stunning sights. Fruits and beverages were provided. We watched the beautiful sunset while toasting with champagne. After sunset we were dropped off at the restaurant St. James where we had an incredible dinner, waterside. Transportation back to our hotel was also easy. Highly recommend.

The cruise was a bit soggy the day we went. The host adapted well, and broke out the drinks and snacks early to accommodate. The three other couples on the tour were a lot of fun. We had great conversation and made the best of the weather. Fortunately, the sun broke through the clouds right before sunset giving us not just great pictures, but also a nice rainbow. Then the dinner was very good. The atmosphere was perfect, right on the water. Between the three of us, we tried all the different menu options. All were good, though the baked brie was our favorite. We also tried all the mocktails. The Virgin St. James was the best in our opinion. We would definitely recommend this tour.

We had booked this months in advance for a romantic excursion for our honeymoon in Bora Bora. We were immediately messaged that they would pick us up at our hotel (which was on a motu). I had been watching the weather everyday in Bora Bora. I understand that it can change quickly day-by-day, but our day was cloudy all day and extremely windy. So there goes our sunset view. I had hoped that they would message me the day of to offer a cancellation and refund as we would not see a sunset (which was 1/2 the reason of booking this). They did not, which is very disappointing considering this was an expensive activity (~ $230/person). So, we watched…clouds. On a very windy, cold day. Also, on the day of the activity, we realized that they offered only round trip transport of the main island, which made things very confusing. So while we had a boat ride to our restaurant (which was delicious), we had to scramble to call our hotel for a ride back to the hotel from their main island camp (which costed us an extra $20). There needs to be more clarification that in the description as many people are staying in resorts on a motu. Only two pros to this event: we had lovely conversations with the only other couple on this activity, and Saint James restaurant was amazing and delicious. However, we could have just gone to dinner Saint James have paid less than 1/2 the cost of this activity (with more food options as we could only two dishes each 3 courses). Overall, absolutely would NOT recommend this unless they allow weather dependent cancellation <24 hours and they clarify more on transportation to AND from the activities.

Sunset cruise and dinner were phenomenal! Pick up at the resort was easy and the boat ride allowed us to see a large portion of the island. Dinner was delicious!

We were scheduled for the sunset cruise and dinner but sadly it rained earlier in the day and the cruise was cancelled by the operator. The evening actually turned out to be beautiful and calm so we made our own way St James Restaurant and had a wonderful dinner!
