Ardí was a great guide and driver. We talked about a lot of things, culture, religion, society... He speaks very good English which is not very common. We spent the day together and it was such a good idea. We went to local places too and tried lots of things ( coffee, fruit, coconut water...). Ardi is an amazing tour guide! He knows so much about history and the history of Yogyakarta. My partner and I learnt so much from him! He is fluent in English which was really nice as we could hold a long conversation. If you’re looking for a bubbly tour guide who is easy to talk to and learn from Ardi is your guy !! I couldn’t recommend him enough!

Stunning structure, on a par with Angkor Wat, but in much better condition thanks to being buried in Lava for 800 years. The rationing of ticketed entry works well, with only 150 allowed up every hour: it never feels overwhelmed by visitors. We had a very informative guide, who came included in the entry ticket price: if you’re staying locally then you don’t need to book one of the tour companies. Book early visit in advance, so it’s not too hot when clambering up the steps.
