Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! Your 2.5-hour tour travels from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace in the North End, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail.
Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1776, the tumultuous years leading into the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country.
With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

This tour was fantastic. Our tour guide, Dave was extremely engaging and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend doing this tour. You get so much more insightful information and stories versus trying to do this on your own. Also, I loved the small group aspect and was glad I was on this tour and not part of the giant groups with the guides in costumes using fake accents.

Tracy was such an amazing guide! I could listen to her for hours and hours. She was so knowledgeable about everything we did and made it fun to listen along the way. We even got lost at the meeting spot and she made sure to call and guide us to the right place so we didn't miss anything. What s gem!

We really enjoyed walking the Freedom Trail and having a local expert guide tell the stories with such great storytelling skills! It was way better than we could've done on our own. The walking was easy and relatively flat. The weather was absolutely perfect too. We took the 10am tour and ended at the perfect time for a nice Italian lunch in the North Town area.

This was a beyond worthwhile experience and I cannot recommend it to folks visiting Boston (or from Boston) enough. The one warning I will give folks is that this tour requires more standing still than walking. The tour spans a surprisingly concentrated area (which our guide established at the beginning by showing us a 1700s map of Boston, which then had much less land mass). I personally didn’t have trouble with standing for longish periods of time, and at several of the trail locations, there were places (even natural features) to sit. Our tour was closer to 3 hours than 2.5, and the time flew by. Our guide Lynn was totally engaging and a pro at navigating the downtown area and encounters with other tour groups. About 90 minutes in, we got a 10 minute break to visit the bathroom and find refreshments at Quincy Market, which was perfectly timed. The trail/tour is thoughtfully mapped, geographically and historically, beginning with the first British occupation of Boston Common and ending with the battle of Bunker Hill (though not really) in the North End looking out at the USS Constitution. It’s a good thing we wrapped up in the North End, Boston’s little Italy, since we had worked up quite the appetite walking!

Beautiful day in Boston. Greatly appreciated learning history from our tour guide who also is a high school history teacher.
