Wonderful day spent tasting and touring. Buffalo Trace tour was the best! Woodford reserve with the food pairing was great as well. Our driver was friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable! Bring snacks for sure though. We were glad we did!

Great bourbon tour! Vladimir was fabulous! Very knowledgeable about Louisville and bourbons. The distillery tours were very interesting. Beautiful properties and I learned a lot about the techniques each distillery uses. And of course - the bourbon was amazing!

Tour was great as it started from small batch bourbon vendors to Buffalo Trace (HUGE). Driver Vlad was awesome, gave town and bourbon histories as we went. I would definitely use this service again as they have more distilleries in their list that I would love to go to.

Overall great tour with the exception of the first stop Four Roses. Where we spent 30 minutes in the gift shop, no tasting. Personally, this stop could’ve been eliminated from the tour. Vladimir was a great guide, he provided guidance/instructions for each distillery which helped to make each stop go smoothly. Lastly, there needs to be more clarity in the specific pickup time. We were provided three different times with the last one, received the day prior to the tour being 9AM when the correct time was to be 8AM.

I purchased this tour as an anniversary gift for my husband and it was the best experience we had. Vladimir S. was our tour guide, not only was he personable, his knowledge of the history of Louisville and distilleries was very good. Vladimir was very entertaining and an excellent tour guide. The tours in the distilleries were excellent. Buffalo Trace, Bulleit and Woodford Reserve were great! I recommend these tours, most especially with Vladimir as your tour guide :)

Your experience will largely depend on your driver, the other passengers, and the distilleries you end up at. Could be a great option for someone who doesn't care where they go, has a felxible schedule and is just along for the experience. We had an OK time on the tour, but setting the itinerary was a debacle, we only got one of the distilleries we chose, timing of the visits was too rushed to really enjoy any of the stops, and guidance on snacks was misleading. We fully expected that we'd be in a van with other guests visiting the distilleries, but we did not realize that whatever company you're booking through Viator seems to just throw people together and hires independent contractors to actually conduct the tour. Despite purchasing the tour 7 weeks in advance, and carefully picking our distilleries, they didn't seem to make any reservations until a week before (and our exact itinerary wasn't set until 9pm the night before) so most tours were full. They added in a 4th stop just to visit the gift shop and get a drink at the bar. That extra stop sounds nice, but between that and some scheduling problems with our first stop (which forced us to wait an hour before the full bar was even open), we didn't have time to really enjoy any of the distilleries before jumping in the van and rushing to the next one. The booking says lunch isn't included and they suggest packing snacks. I initially expected a stop would include an option to buy lunch, but there were no opportunities to purchase any food. We did pack lunch but everyone else on our tour did not have anything to eat from 9:00am to 6:00pm, so make sure you do pack a full lunch, because even if a distillery sells food, you may not have time to eat there. Not that your selections seem to matter much, but here’s a quick summary of my experience from this and other bourbon tours I’ve done in the past Buffalo Trace – visited in 2018 and loved it, but this last visit in October 2025 was way too busy. It felt like we were cattle just getting herded through (may have just been the weekend we went) but still a cool stop with lots of history and well-known bottles. Stitzel-Weller – Gift shop and tasting room were nice, but the distillery is very industrial/run down. You don’t get to see much of the actual operation since it's just an aging campus, but is kind of cool if you’re a bourbon history nerd Jeptha Creed – Tasting room/bar is pretty small. Apparently, they have pizzas, but we got there after the kitchen closed. They have a really nice outdoor area with a small stage that seems like it would be fun Woodford Reserve – Beautiful area with really historic rickhouses. Felt a little snobby, but still a nice place to visit Four Roses – I only did a tasting and it was fine. I’m not sure why, but the Spanish style architecture just felt kind of fake. Jim Beam – Obviously a huge operation, but the tasting room and restaurant are really nice with beautiful views of the rolling hills Makers Mark – The most picturesque distillery I’ve been too. A surprisingly young bourbon brand with a lot of history on the farm. Hand dipping your own bottle in the giftshop is fun, but they don’t do mini-bottles, so you’d need a check bag to take it home.

It was interesting and fun. Learned a lot about how bourbon is made. Didn’t realize difference between bourbon and whiskey.

I had booked a tour with a different company and they canceled our tour 48 hours before we were to go. I contacted Bourbon Experience and they were able to put a tour together for us quickly. Communication was great and our driver Vlad was delightful. Bourbon Experience saved our vacation and I highly recommend them.

Would do this tour again! Beatrice was great, made it so we could see 3 more distilleries! Didn’t tour or taste at them, but got to see the grounds and the gift shop! Loved being able to go to Buffalo trace! Highly recommend!
