We’ll start with a scenic walk unearthing the rich history of the port wine industry. Enjoy the jaw dropping views along the way, as we stop at relevant Miradouros (viewpoints). 20 mins active walking time; 45 total walking/standing. Next, we will head to a boutique, Portuguese family owned, port wine cellar where you will experience a cellar tour and a tasting of different styles of port wine. I’ll cover some tasting notes and explain the differences in styles. I have a winemaking background and my mission is to guide you to discover your favorite type of Port Wine (there is more than one)! For the grand finale, access will be provided to an exclusive rooftop bar with postcard worthy views, where you will enjoy Porto’s signature cocktail-a Porto Tónico. Here, you can enjoy a different expression of port wine while soaking up the view. You are welcome to stay as long as you wish and purchase additional drink or food. A non-alcoholic option is available: a chocolate tasting in lieu of the port wine tasting at the winery, and a mocktail at the rooftop. Please advise if you want this option at the time of booking. You must be 18+ to be served alcohol in Portugal. winecompass.pt

Hands down one of the best walking tours I've been on! I feel super glad we chose Jennifer, who absolutely made our day. We were a large group for a combined bachelor + bachelorette party. She mapped out the perfect walking tour of Gaia followed by a cellar visit and a rooftop bar with stellar views. She presented the entire tour as one captivating storytelling session building on the suspense from the previous spot. During the planning phases she was prompt, responsive, and despite some last minute changes, made everything work smoothly. If you're looking for a Gaia wine tour, I highly recommend engaging her!! I'll definitely recommend her to my friends and will engage her in another tour the next time we're there. Thanks a TON for making our day that much more perfect, Jennifer!

Jennifer was a great host, she showed us some great views and provided so much information on the city and it's wine and port making history. The tour included a tour of a small family owned port wine cave cimplete with tasting which was very interesting and tasty. The tour ended in a lovely roof top bar sipping port tonic and enjoying the view. Highly recommended tour to while away a couple of hours.

We met Jennifer two days prior to her putting together a personal tour for my husband and me. She listened to what we wanted to see/do and added a few surprises based on what we provided. She nailed it all! We had a wonderful day and evening exploring some hidden treasures and tasting some amazing ports and wine. The lunch she planned was beyond expectations. When (not if) we return to Gaia we will be getting in touch to arrange another tour or two with Jennifer. She listened and was able to go beyond a traditional tour of the area. You can’t go wrong. Our tour was more than her ‘normal’ port history/tasting. She is branching out to provide more options and we were her first clients … and she delivered.

What a beautiful way to spend a few hours. We ended up with a private tour (bonus). Jennifer was so friendly. She gave us the history of Gaia, which included wonderful views and lots of very interesting information. She curated the tour to include a cellar tour, wine tasting, and then we ended on a rooftop restaurant with a Porto Tonic ( so amazing). She truly is passionate about what she does. It was my husband, myself and our 27 year old son. Cannot say enough good things.

Such a great experience in Gaia! Jennifer, our English-speaking guide, was knowledgeable, fun and passionate. She made us feel like friends, not tourists. The boutique vibe was exactly what we wanted: a small group, an amazing port tasting at a family-owned hidden cellar and local stories you won’t hear on big tours. The farewell on a small rooftop bar, drink in hand, overlooking the Douro and Porto, was the perfect ending!

We were on a short vacation in Porto and wanted to try the famous Port wine everyone talks about. By chance, we found a flyer for a wine tasting and signed up immediately. From the very beginning, our guide Jennifer was amazing – extremely friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about wine. This experience was so much more than just a wine tour. After only a short time with her, it felt like we had known her forever. She walked us through the city and the wine cellars, shared the fascinating history of Port wine, and finally took us to a tasting at one of the cellars. To make it even more special, she ended the tour at a rooftop bar where she treated us to a cocktail made with Port wine. This tour, and Jennifer herself, are something we will never forget. We truly and wholeheartedly recommend her and this experience to anyone visiting Porto!

Went on a specially planned multi-day tour with Jennifer through Gaia, Porto, and Douro Valley. Jennifer planned all parts selecting the best places for us to check out, including the best sightseeing, restaurants, and wineries. Knowing little about wine myself, Jennifer was excellent at recommending great wines I would like, which was spot on 100% of the time. The highlight of the trip was the day trip to Douro Valley. Jennifer arranged for a scenic train ride from Porto to Douro Valley, where we went to the most beautiful hillside vineyards with excellent wine and views.

My wife and I took the port wine tour and we loved it! Jennifer was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. We especially loved the rooftop portion at the end of the tour. Porto and Gaia are so beautiful. We highly recommend taking this tour with Jennifer.
