We went on our own, not a tour. It was extremely crowded. There are no instructions given and no signs in English to help first-time visitors. It is a beautiful facility. There are many pools and it is a bit of a maze finding your way from room to room. At least 2 people i saw had to get the staff to find their way out. The HUGE outdoor pool looked inviting, but to get from the main building, down some stairs and across a large patio area in winter was not appealing. I'm glad, I had the experience but I would never go again. You must wear flip-flops and a suit and have a robe. Remember to take a plastic bag for wet things. They allow phones and pictures, which distressed my companion. Saunas were too packed to enter, as we're all the special rooms. I would recommend checking a less well known bath, perhaps ask a local. We were neither impressed with the overall experience.

This was a very relaxing day after many miles walked Budapest. This place is huge and offers a huge variety of amenities. My favorite part of the day was the beer spa!

Nice combination with beer spa and then all pools, sauna and other recreation. Despite the autumn and cold, the outdoor pools were really nice to spend time in.

Getting out to the Széchenyi Thermal Bath is super convenient — whether you take a quick subway ride or call an Uber, it’s an easy trip from most parts of Budapest. We went later in the afternoon and chose the VIP package, which I highly recommend. It included a separate entrance, private changing room, and access to an exclusive lounge area — perfect for escaping the main crowd. The bath complex is massive, with indoor and outdoor thermal pools, saunas, plunge pools, and even a salt chamber. The outdoor pools are especially beautiful and spacious, creating the perfect setting for both relaxation and people-watching. If you’re up for a unique experience, try the Beer Spa — you literally sit in a warm tub infused with hops and malt while pouring your own unlimited craft beer. It’s quirky, fun, and a highlight for sure. For those who want to make a day of it, there’s a restaurant and snack bar on-site. The crowds weren’t bad during our visit; we had no problem rotating between pools. A few quick tips: Book massages or the Beer Spa ahead of time – they sell out quickly. Bring your own bag for wet swimsuits and, if possible, borrow towels and robes from your hotel for comfort. Don’t forget flip-flops for walking between areas. Hair must be tied up in the pools, and if you plan to swim laps, bring a cap (they’ll ask for it). Even though it was a crisp fall day, we still enjoyed every minute — especially watching the sunset over the steamy outdoor pools. Széchenyi Thermal Bath truly lives up to its reputation as one of Budapest’s must-do experiences. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would absolutely return and recommend the VIP experience for a more relaxing visit.

Budapest... just gorgeous! 🌟 A journey that conquers you at first glance, with that elegant and romantic air that hovers between the bridges over the Danube and the illuminated domes at sunset. Getting around the city was a pleasure: with the BOLT app, every ride became a little encounter with kindness — taxi drivers smiling, punctual, cheap and always ready to have a word. And then... the wonders! ✨ The European Parliament, majestic and fairytale, which is reflected in the waters of the river as in a dream. The Széchenyi thermal baths, a sensory experience between hot vapors and golden architecture: a dive into wellness and history. The Danube cruise offers breathtaking views, while the Old Buda Castle tells legends within its ancient walls. And how not to fall in love with the small funicular, a retro gem that takes you up, towards breathtaking views... or the Chain Bridge, sparkling at night, symbol of union between two souls of the city. In winter, the ice skating rink adds a magical, almost Christmasy touch, and to finish — or to begin — a stop at the mythical Café New York, sumptuous, refined, where every cafe smells of history and poetry. In short... Budapest is a daydream, a city that enters your heart and never lets you go.

There were lots of pools, however it was really busy and felt over crowded. The whole place looks tired, we only stayed an hour as most of the pools were full. The temperature of the various pools was nice and had it not been as busy it may have been a better experience. The changing rooms were good as you could lock your belonging’s in again they needed a good clean. Take your own robe/towel/sliders.

Refreshing, semi-private, very relaxing. The changing rooms are private and secure. There is no choice of beer, but the local lager offered was good. Took the opportunity to go into the public outdoor thermal pool. It was delightfully warm even though the air temperature was a little chilly.
