What makes our original Foodapest Street Food Tour truly unique, is that the experience is the perfect blend of authentic Hungarian flavors, local storytelling, and intimate group vibes. Unlike standard food tours, we go beyond just eating: we connect you to the culture, history, and people behind each bite.
You’ll taste everything from iconic staples like goulash and chimney cake to lesser-known local favorites, all paired with carefully selected regional wines and spirits. Each stop is a mini cultural deep-dive, guided by locals who share not just food, but the stories and traditions that make Hungary’s cuisine so rich.
With a relaxed, small group setting, this isn’t just a tour, it’s a shared culinary journey where you leave full, inspired, and maybe even with a few new friends.

Poor. 10 simple dishes and 2 wines, 500ml each for 12 Guests. Not 14+ and wine. Small portions, we had to share between 12, the Palinka comes out of the pocket and was served in paper cups. Last dish was just spray cream out of a can. Not really traditional. In other places of the world, we discovered wunderful foodtours, this one was disappointing.

There is a good variety of samples. The guides are knowledgeable about the food. Lucy and Emma are a lot of fun.

Lucy and Emma did a wonderful job explaining the food and the history behind it all. They were both very knowledgeable and personable. Both guides spoke English very well, so we were able to communicate with them very well. The group size was just right. We enjoyed it very much and would highly recommend!

Great experience. Our guide (Emma?) was outstanding. The walk was nice and the food items picked were very tasty.

From chimney cake to langos to goulash to all things covered in sour cream, this tour is a crash course in Hungarian cuisine and historical context. Lucy brings a fun energy while being highly informative. I left well fed on information.

Tour was great and our guide Lucy was exceptional. Word of caution - we took the Sunday afternoon tour when the Central Market is closed which means the alter the tour. We figured that out and went to the market earlier that day on our own. Just something to keep in mind if you book a Sunday tour.

From the market to pedestrian friendly sites in Budapest, many foods and tastes were covered. All the must try foods were tasted, and a few drinks helped liven the tour.
