From the first gate to the final certificate ceremony, the Kilimanjaro climb was top-notch. Our group had a mix of ages, and the Burigi Chato guides made sure everyone felt supported. The Marangu route is iconic, and doing it with this crew made it feel like a personal accomplishment. A perfect balance of price, safety, and fun.

The logistics for this 5-day Kilimanjaro climb were seamless. From the pick-up in Moshi to the summit push, Burigi Chato Safaris handled everything. The porters are the real MVPs—they beat us to the huts every day with our gear and had hot tea waiting. The summit night is freezing and steep, but the guides know exactly how to pace the group to ensure everyone has a shot at the top.

The Marangu route is beautiful—you start in a jungle with monkeys and end up on a lunar landscape. Our guides checked our oxygen levels every night, which gave me a lot of confidence. Getting to Uhuru Peak at sunrise was a life-changing moment.

Honestly, I’m still recovering as I write this, but I had to give a shout-out to Burigi Chato Safaris. I booked their 5-day Marangu group climb because it fit my budget, and I’m so glad I did. I was a bit worried about joining a random group as a solo traveler, but the vibes were great from day one. We all just clicked, and having people to chat with in the huts at night really helped take my mind off the altitude. The 5-day route is no joke—it’s steep and the summit night is brutal—but our guides were absolute legends. When I felt like my legs were giving out near Gilman’s Point, they didn't just tell me to keep going; they literally sang me up the mountain and kept me laughing when I just wanted to sleep in the dirt. You can tell these guys really know the mountain. The "Coca-Cola" route (Marangu) was actually pretty cozy since we stayed in huts instead of tents. It’s basic, but having a real roof over your head when the wind is howling outside is a luxury you don’t appreciate until you're there. And the food? I have no idea how they make such good ginger soup and hot meals in a tiny mountain kitchen, but it was exactly what I needed. If you're looking for a team that's professional but also feels like hanging out with friends who happen to be experts at climbing mountains, definitely book with Burigi Chato. They made the whole logistics side of things so easy so I could just focus on not passing out lol. Thanks again guys for the memories!

I recently completed the 5-day Marangu route as part of a budget group-join tour, and the experience was nothing short of life-changing.I went into the trek nervous about the short 5-day timeframe and the "budget" label, but I quickly realized that the quality of the support and the camaraderie of the group would carry me through.Arriving as a solo traveler, I was immediately welcomed into a small "mountain family" where we shared bunk beds in the A-frame huts and bonded over hot ginger tea and bowls of popcorn after long days on the trail. The Marangu route is unique because you stay in huts rather than tents, which provided a much-needed sense of community and shelter from the elements, especially at Horombo and Kibo.On Day 1 to the eerie, lunar-like "Saddle" of the alpine desert by Day 3. The mental challenge really set in at Kibo Hut; at 4,700m, the air is incredibly thin, and knowing I had to start the summit push at midnight was intimidating. However, the expertise of our guides made all the difference. They monitored our health constantly and maintained a "pole pole" (slowly, slowly) pace that was essential for someone like me on a shorter 5-day schedule. On summit night, when the temperature dropped and every step felt like a marathon, the guides kept us moving with songs and constant encouragement. Reaching Gillman’s Point just as the sun began to purple the horizon, and then finally standing at Uhuru Peak, was a moment of pure euphoria that I will never forget. What truly made this trip special wasn't just reaching the top, but the incredible hardworking crew who made it possible. The porters are absolute superheroes, often arriving at the huts long before us to ensure our gear was ready, always greeting us with a smile and "Jambo!" To anyone considering this package: don't let the "budget" tag fool you—the food was hearty and hot, the safety protocols were professional, and the experience was world-class.If you are physically fit and ready for a mental challenge, joining a group for this 5-day trek is the most rewarding way to see the roof of Africa. I descended back to the Marangu Gate with sore knees, a summit certificate, and a new perspective on what I’m capable of achieving. More thanks to Burigi Chato Safaris for your true support and make a trip achiviable.
