Puente de la Mujer
To begin, we will head towards Puerto Madero, home to the stunning Puente de la Mujer (Woman's Bridge). Designed by Santiago Calatrava, this iconic pedestrian bridge opened in 2001, symbolizes a tango-dancing couple. Its unique ability to rotate 90 degrees for passing boats is a fascinating sight. The bridge offers panoramic views of the modern skyline and historic ships. It's a popular meeting spot, blending architectural innovation with the revitalized, upscale Puerto Madero district. This area, once a commercial port, now boasts stylish restaurants and high-end buildings, a stark contrast to the city's older charm. We'll take the opportunity to stroll through the port, its docks, and the modern district, with the possibility of heading towards the waterfront, Costanera Sur.
Casa Rosada
Our journey now takes us to Plaza de Mayo, Buenos Aires' most iconic and historically charged square, and its centerpiece, the Casa Rosada (Pink House). This grand, salmon-pink building is the official seat of the Argentine President and a witness to centuries of national history. Plaza de Mayo has been the stage for countless pivotal moments: from the 1810 May Revolution that sparked Argentina's independence, to the impassioned speeches of Eva Perón, and the silent vigils of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo. Its architecture reflects this rich past, with buildings like the Cabildo (the old colonial town hall) and the Metropolitan Cathedral (where Pope Francis, then Cardinal Bergoglio, served) flanking the square. The Casa Rosada itself offers a glimpse into Argentina's political soul. Its balcony is famed as the spot where many leaders have addressed the crowds. Standing in this square, you truly feel the echoes of history and the vibrant pulse of Argentine democracy.

Our private tour of Buenos Aires with Carlos was nothing short of "fantabulous". From the moment he picked us up in his comfortable, air-conditioned car, we knew we were in expert hands. Carlos isn’t just a guide; he’s a passionate storyteller and photographer who brings the city’s soul to life through a "local's eyes". What sets Buenos Aires by Carlos apart is his incredible flexibility. He treated our itinerary like a "painter's palette," tailoring every stop to our specific interests and energy levels. We explored iconic landmarks like the Recoleta Cemetery and Plaza de Mayo, but also discovered hidden gems in the suburbs that we never would have found on our own. Carlos’s deep knowledge of Argentine history and current culture—all shared in perfect English—provided invaluable context. He even took stunning portraits of us at the city's most picturesque spots. By the end of our multi-day journey, it felt less like a formal tour and more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable friend. If you want a seamless, deeply personal immersion into Buenos Aires, Carlos is the only way to go.

Carlos was our guide for 2days. Day one, he picked us up from the airport and gave us a 4 hour tour of central Buenos Aires and the river area. Day 2 started with Recoleta cemetery, very close to where we were staying. He was very knowledgeable about the cemetery and the history of Argentina. Discussions lead to a change of plan and we then went to some very interesting parts of the suburbs rather than more mainstream sites, which we did on our own the following day. We felt Carlos loves his city and very effectively passes on this enthusiasm and so we now love Buenos Aires too. We also felt we got to know him, he is very good company and a pleasure to spent time with. Carlos describes his tours in terms of a painter’s palate. You hire him and his knowledge and he will tailor his tours to you and your interests and needs. Carlos made our stay in Buenos Aires very enjoyable and I am already recommending him to others .

On September 6th 2025 I had the pleasure of an interesting and varied tour of Buenos Aires from my very attentive host Carlos! All of the communication before the outing was straightforward and Carlos was very adept at customising the tour to our exact needs. We ticked off all of the areas we wanted to see, Puerto Madero, the historic centre around Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo, Recoleta, Palermo and Belgrano. Being driven around by Carlos made the experience so much more relaxing and also meant that we were able to change the tour in the moment, if an area was of particular interest, which happened as we were roaming around the San Telmo market. Having the private car service meant we mixed exploring a neighbourhood in detail on foot and being able to see the most important parts of BA all in one day. Carlos was a very knowledgeable host who had an endless list of engaging and personal anecdotes on all of the places we visited, having grown up here and being very interested in history. In each neighbourhood he knew exactly which establishment to go in, whether it was a coffee near Plaza de Mayo or a traditional choripán in San Telmo. It was also very helpful that he dropped us off exactly where we needed to be for our evening plans. Thank you Carlos for a great day in Buenos Aires!

We spent a wonderful day with Carlos and his tour in English was very understandable for us. We have learned a lot about the history of Argentina and Buenos Aires in particular, and the current topics about life here have also been superbly presented. The tour was a lot of fun for us overall and was exciting. Many thanks to Carlos for this wonderful day. We can only recommend such a tour to anyone. Rainer with family

It was a great city tour, during which mein got many insights into the different districts of Buenos Aires. Carlos has a lot of knowledge, you can ask questions about everything, which he answers fluently. For example, during the tour we talked about the economic situation and political situation of Argentina and we got differentiated information and answers that also made us look behind the scenes of the city. The tour was in English, the communication worked well and Carlos spoke very understandably. Overall, a highly recommended tour of Buenos Aires, which you should definitely do once you are in Argentina.
