  Having had an amazingly successful safari in Yala on the previous day, we set off to Bundala National Park, with Udayanga as our guide again, and high hopes of another day of fantastic wildlife sightings. With nearly everyone heading to Yala, Bundula is a much more tranquil experience, with essentially just you and the wildlife. We had come hoping to see lots of new Sri Lankan birds, and we saw them aplenty with Udayanga's excellent local knowledge and determination to find everything there was to find. We had great sightings of other animals too, so it's not just about the birds. We definitely recommend visiting both Yala and Bundala National Parks with Udayanga...they were both real highlights of our Sri Lanka trip.

  Having done Yala safari tours the day before, this was by far our best experience. We went for the birds but saw loads of elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, water buffalo, wild boar and even sea turtles. We had a guide with us which really made the experience, it was not rushed and we were able to spend time watching the animals.

  This was an enjoyable half day trip, ostensibly bird watching but we saw many mammals too, including elephants and mongoose. The biggest attraction was the birds though, our guide Udayanga, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic driving us to many sites to see a wide variety of birds. After the tour was over he even stopped the vehicle by a lake outside the park, so we could see the sun going down behind the jungle. Bundala is a much quieter park than Yala, the admission fee is 8,000 Sri Lankan rupees, which is in addition to the trip cost. I would definitely use this firm in future, if we are lucky enough to revisit Sri Lanka.

  Brilliant trip. Experienced friendly driver. A really nice national park without the crowds of Yala. We would highly recommend this trip. Plenty to see and amazing birds.

  I booked drift with Udayanga by email, then communicated via WhatsApp. Good communication from start to finish. On the morning my cruise ship docked he sent a photo of his distinctive mustard coloured hat and as soon as we exited the port gates found him! Bundala park was about 30 minuted in a jeep from the port and is a haven for birds. We spotted so many, also saw crocodiles, elephants, monkeys, mongoose- the list goes on. The park is a real alternative to Yala, and this private tour with Udayanga saved me money compared to the ships prices. It was a fabulous experience and thank you!

  Udayanga was a very good guide. He did a great job spotting and identifying different bird species. Especially because many of the migratory shorelines in Bundala have very similar colors and patterns, he was very helpful. Throughout our safari, we encountered almost 50 different species of birds!!

  We did the afternoon safari in Bundala National Park. It was a very great experience. We have even seen many elephants, as well as many different birds, crocodiles and monkeys. Our driver, Amila, explained a lot to us and told us the service was very good and we enjoyed it a lot!

  We saw today 25/01/2024 a lot of nice birds and elephants. Our guide was Udayanga he knows a lot about the wildlife in sri lanka. He speaks also good English.
