1st Republic Brewing Co
These breweries are sample itineraries only. All schedules are subject to change. The founders of 1st Republic Brewing, Shawn Trout and Mike Drake, both served on active duty and with distinction overseas before returning to Vermont to serve up some of the best Veteran crafted brews. In fact, 1st Republic was voted 2018’s VT Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year. They love everything about beer from brewing it to drinking it to teaching about it and to sharing it. Friends, family, and beer lovers can gather ’round the taproom for fun, games, locally delivered food, and raising a glass to good beer and good times.
Queen City Brewery
Founded in 2014 by long-time friends and brewers Paul Hale, Paul Held, Phil Kaszuba, and Maarten van Ryckevorsel, Queen City Brewery brews a variety of traditional ales and lagers, as well as several unique specialty beers with a focus on giving the customer a unique experience with unexpected notes in their beers that they’ve aged and fermented to produce complex flavors unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. (So yeah, we’re pretty much changing your life by bringing you here. No need to thank us.) On our tour, you’ll see why this foursome rose to frothy success as you sip your way through their suds, including a rare style they brew call ‘Steinbeer’ that’s brewed with hot rocks. The process grants less temperature control to the brewer and imparts a smoky, caramel flavor. Yep, we’ll say it again: life-changing.

Stopped at three 'local' breweries. I thought I knew a lot about brewing history, but I learned so much more from Nick. Lovely way to spend 4 hours!

Spent a super fun and informative afternoon with your guide par excellence, Nick. Nick was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and a fantastic and fun teacher, full of historic stories pertaining to beer, beer-making, and everything else beer! The three craft breweries were off the beaten track and the beers outstanding. I highly recommend this tour!

10/10. Nick, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He truly made the tour. We got to see behind the scenes of two breweries, and ended the evening at one of our personal favorite spots.

We visited three different breweries. We really liked each…..they were each quite different in their brewing styles and we appreciated that. We really enjoyed the other couple that was on the tour, so that made it a lot of fun. Our guide was rather lackluster, but I think it’s maybe cause he was recovering from being ill.

What a wonderful way to experience Vermont beers with a knowledgeable tour guide and a designated driver! Nick was great- he was engaging, answered all of our questions, was incredibly accommodating, and made the experience both educational and fun. 10/10 recommend this experience for anyone, even if you’re from Vermont (like me)!

McKayla, our guide, was awesome! We were the only people on the tour so she was able to adapt to our interests and knowledge level. This was my first City Brew Tour and it was a great experience. I would go on one again in my own city for sure.

If you're in search of an exceptional brewery tour with a guide who not only educates but also brings a fantastic vibe, your destination should undoubtedly be Burlington City Brew Tours. Last week, my partner and I had the most incredible brew tour experience with them, and it exceeded all our expectations. Our guide, Nick, was the heart and soul of the day. Right from the outset, he made us feel like we were in for something special. His warm welcome and infectious enthusiasm for craft brewing set the tone for the day. Nick's knowledge of the local breweries and the intricacies of the brewing process was truly impressive. He actively encouraged our questions and led insightful conversations that enriched our experience. We were lucky enough to be the only two people taking the tour that day. Nick not only personalized the experience to our liking and ensured that we were sampling a diverse range of beers that matched our tastes but he also got us out of our comfort zone and I ended up loving the beers that I would have never picked before. The Burlington City Brew Tour was undeniably the highlight of our trip, and we eagerly anticipate exploring more cities with your tours in the future!

This is a great way to spend a day in Burlington! Special without being hokey, professional without being impersonal. We loved it. Nick, our guide, was outstanding in his knowledge, friendliness and patience. We were a party of three that joined a bachelor party of six and Nick made sure we all felt comfortable enjoying the tour together. Most importantly, Nick made sure we tried delicious beers! At each stop, there was something for everyone. Our tour included lunch, and as other reviews point out, the stop at Barnyard is fantastic. Vermont pizza and beer are a TREAT! Get some!
