The Seal Island Bridge connects Boularderie Island to Cape Breton Island, crossing the Great Bras d’Or Channel. Opened in 1961, it is the third-longest bridge in Nova Scotia, stretching about 716 meters (2,350 feet). The bridge is not only an important travel route along the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 105), but it also offers stunning views of the Bras d’Or Lake, surrounding mountains, and small communities nearby. Many travelers stop at viewpoints to take pictures of the bridge and the scenery. It’s considered a gateway to the Cabot Trail, making it a must-see spot for anyone touring Cape Breton.
Saint Anns
Perched high above St. Ann’s Bay on the Cabot Trail, the St. Ann’s Lookoff is one of Cape Breton’s most breathtaking viewpoints. From here, visitors can see rolling highlands, sparkling waters, and the Englishtown area far below. It’s a popular stop for travelers to stretch, take photos, and enjoy panoramic views before continuing their Cabot Trail journey. On clear days, the lookout offers some of the best scenery on the island, especially in autumn when the highlands glow with colorful foliage. A true “don’t miss” stop along the Cabot Trail.

This is our first time in Sydney, NC. Our tour guide is Jassinder Singh (Jesse) who is a dedicated guide and driver. Our family enjoyed the sight and scenery-seeing trip up Cabot trail and appreciated Jesse’s patience and effort on the job. Being relatively new to the island, Jesse can definitely grow in his narration of the sights and places that we visited along the trail. At those look out points he was more of a driver and picture taking assistant than a tour guide currently. Another point of improvement is his driving habits in general; we observed him fighting sleepiness along the windy road, tailgating a few cars in front and occasionally replying to texts/phone messages while driving. Safe driving habits can be improved for future guests who would otherwise enjoy his overall charm and helpfulness.

The dialect of the tour guide was difficult to understand. While he was very pleasant and accommodating, it was not a good experience. We cut it short. I believe all Heart Tour guides are from a different culture - not Nova Scotia locals.

Our driver was a bit difficult to understand as he had the accent of his native India. Although him to be engaging and knowledge of the most wonderful sights. The places that he had for a lunch and snack spot were not open for the season. I thought he should have known this ahead of time. I would recommend this tour

This company canceled the tour as we disembark from the cruise ship. We were literally supposed to be getting on the bus when they first notified us. Many of us don’t really have good Wi-Fi on a ship setting so it was especially confusing as they issued a refund, but we had not asked for one. We were able to book something with another local tour. Needless to say myself, and the people who had been booked were very disappointed.
