As part of this workshop, you will be introduced to both traditional and digital calligraphy as well as how to make Japanese picture letters called Etegami, in a traditional setting.Come experience an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind art experience, whether you are traveling alone, with friends, or with your family!This workshop is led by Ami and her team of professional artists and creators.

What To Expect
Have you ever tried Japanese Calligraphy or Ink Painting? During our workshop, you will be introduced to both traditional and digital calligraphy. You will also learn to draw etegami, the art of picture letters. Relax in our ambient studio with a cup of tea and enjoy learning a new skill. We hope you join us for a unique and unforgettable art experience, whether you travel alone, or with friends and family! ■ What to Expect Workshop duration is approximately 1.5 hours, including a break. The timeline shown below is a rough estimate. 30 minutes: Greetings & Introduction to traditional Calligraphy or Suibokuga (Japanese Ink Painting) 15 minutes: Break - Free Japanese Tea & Snacks will be provided 30 minutes: Digital Art Session - Calligraphy or Suibokuga Making on iPad 15 minutes: Q&A About the studio: Studio Aya is run by successful YouTuber amity_sensei, who has dedicated her time to teaching children and adults valuable art skills in hopes of inspiring new generations to appreciate creativity. 5.00My husband and I had a great time learning both calligraphy and also how to make digital Japanese painted postcards called etegami. The first half of the class are teachers helped us improve our brush stroke work and explained the Zen approach that calligraphy takes. We were able to create a take-home piece and then enjoy some Japanese snacks and tea. The class rounded out with learning how to create Japanese painted postcards on procreate through the iPad. The iPad and Apple pencil were provided. Our favorite aspect was the combination of traditional and current art media format. It was a relaxing, informative, and all around lively experience. I highly recommend this experience.
