It was great! Our dive master Lisa was really knowledgeable and fun. She made the whole experience so good! The rest of the crew was very nice and sweet. We had a really good time and would scuba dive with them again!

Our family had the best time on a snorkel and dive trip with Calypso to three locations on the Outer Reef. Although we had all planned to learn to dive on the boat, only two of us ended up being able to do it. The staff was incredibly kind to my very disappointed teenager (who was told on the boat that he couldn’t dive) and also very helpful when my youngest got very seasick. Once we were in the water, we couldn’t believe what we were seeing. The diversity and volume of fish and corals astounded us. We’ve snorkeled in the Caribbean and the experiences just don’t compare. This was an absolute highlight of time in Australia. Thank you, Calypso!!

Lovely coral and lots of fish to see. Rather cramped seating inside the boat. The lunch was fantastic with lots of fresh meat and salads. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

The day was great from start to finish. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and made everyone feel safe. We snorkelled at three locations and all were fantastic. The boat was a perfect size, with 60 guests, so not too busy. I can’t fault the day, I’d thoroughly recommend.

A brilliant day on the Great Barrier Reef hosted by the crew of the Calypso Blue. Whilst the rain was heavy and the sea choppy on the way out, the weather cleared (as the crew predicted) and snorkelling at the reef was amazing. The crew were great fun and very knowledgeable and it was apparent that our safety was the number one priority at all times. The specialist talks both onboard and the guided tours of the reef were excellent. There was plenty of room on the boat and the food was very good. I would definitely recommend the Calypso Outer Reef Tour.

The boat was far larger and far more crowded than any snorkelling tour we’ve previously been on. Seating was scarce, there wasn’t really any room to stow belongings and the overall atmosphere felt claustrophobic. Not exactly the relaxing reef experience we expected. The food was poor. Meat eaters were given beef, chicken and ham; vegetarians/vegans/pescatarians had a single main option that wasn’t very good, and there were no fish options. The professional photos were surprisingly poor quality and wildly overpriced - hard to justify when the tour itself already costs a small fortune. To make matters worse, the photographer was rude and accused me of taking photos from her iPad on my phone, which did not happen. Frankly, even if I had wanted to, I wouldn’t have bothered - the photos she took weren’t worth saving! But my main issue is that Calypso Reef Cruises is dishonest and exploitative. We paid over £200 each for a single dive plus snorkelling trip, which is already steep. Well before the tour, I received an email warning that some medical conditions or medications may require medical clearance. The examples given were things like breathing or ear problems. On the day, I completed the medical form and stated that I’ve been taking ADHD medication for the past three years. I was immediately told there was no possibility of diving. I then spoke directly to the manager, Sam, who was unfriendly and unhelpful and who ultimately confirmed this decision. When I asked why this wasn’t flagged earlier, especially since they had already contacted me about medical requirements, I was met with a sarcastic response along the lines of “we can’t ask everything”. So if you’re going with Calypso Reef Cruises, your options are to either withhold medical information or choose a more honest company. I’d say save your money and go with a better company.

Amazing experience... Relatively small group, great snacks and lunch.. The crew were fabulous, attentive and caring. Despite my fear of deep water I was taken along the reef. The reef was beautiful with amazing fishes and corals!!!
