This was an amazing experience! The tour guide had excellent knowledge of the history of the wall and was very helpful in setting up our tent and returning us to a train station the next day at our request. We didn’t see one other tourist the whole time and got to experience a part of the wall in total seclusion. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience! Camping on the great wall and see the sunset and sunrise from this beautiful spot is amazing. The views were outstanding and our guide Tim was so friendly and took us for a lovely meal at a farmer’s family. So tasty! He brought some snacks for the night and we stopped at a shop to buy some drinks. It’s amazing to be there at night. Just hearing some dogs far away and the wind that blows by your tent. For breakfast we went to another small village and had a local breakfast. We highly recommend this tour!

If visiting China and the Great Wall this is worth every cent. Definitely the highlight of our time in China. Joe was so easy to communicate with and he made it so seamless and easy to book. Tim our guide was very knowledgeable, accommodated for us very well. We didn’t see a soul on the wall for two days, it was completely ours which was awesome. It wasn’t just all about the wall, Tim knew I liked trying local foods also so he took us to some local little restaurants and ordered the best meals. Tim and the team made this trip very special, even when the weather wasn’t our friend the first day we still had a blast. Camping on the wall was awesome and Tim was always there to take the perfect photos of me and the Mrs. I couldn’t recommend these guys any higher, I did a lot of research when booking a hike and this didn’t disappoint.

We hiked the Great Wall staying in a tent and being able to admire little-known features and with almost no other person. Our guide Tim was fantastic: everything was very well organized and the stretches explored were super charming, the food great and the views beautiful! Thanks also to Joe for booking trains, superefficient!

The tour was just incredible! Together with a friend we wanted to experience the Great Wall of China in a very special way and decided and therefore for the camp offer in combination with pristine and untouristic sections of the wall - it was the absolutely right decision! Our guide was the best I ever had, just indescribably accommodating and a really cool guy! This experience will forever be remembered as a highlight for life! Thank you for that!

An absolutely AMAZING experience that we will never forget! During the booking process, Joe dealt with all of our queries quickly and efficiently, answering any questions we had. Our guide Woody was excellent, full of knowledge and friendly. He has such a visible passion for the beautiful Great Wall and it really shows. The trip is so well planned out and our excellent driver Ho made sure we got to each destination safely. All of our meals were tasty and thoroughly enjoyed some incredible local food. We got to explore some truly amazing parts of the Great Wall where not many other people were. We also had a local host who helped us navigate the breathtaking architecture and were rewarded with beautiful views over distant Beijing. Couldn’t recommend enough if you want a unique experience in China! We also have some fantastic photos that Woody took for us to capture our amazing memories. Thank you all!

Did a private 6 day Great Wall hiking tour with one night of camping on the wall. The experience was amazing. Our guide Oliver was excellent, he had plenty of knowledge about the wall and the hiking routes. Our driver Zhang was very attentive and we felt very safe whilst he drove us between the sections of the wall. The accommodation was always nice and clean. And it's safe to say we were never hungry from the amount of delicious food that we'd eat in all the different places. The hikes varied each day, each providing stunning views of the restored and unrestored sections of the wall. The hikes were mainly away from the typical popular spots giving us space to enjoy the wall and take in all the views without crowds of people around. One of the sections was rather steep and I wouldn't recommend attempting this even if a little scared of heights - although the views in this section were incredible. Overall this was a beautiful experience, we had a brilliant time, and I would recommend to anyone interested in hiking on The Great Wall.

What an amazing experience! This camping trip on the wall was a trip of a friend of mine, and she was so enthusiastic that me and five friends/colleagues tried it as well. After pick up from our hotel, we started we a 4 hour hike. We drove to deserted parts of the wall, and during the hike we only encountered two other people. So no big crowds. I really enjoyed the humbling feeling of being this tiny human surrounded by this neverending wall. And the fact that it wasn’t so ‘touristy’; it felt very authentic and nature-y. After the hike (which wasn’t always easy. If you have bad knees, use the walking sticks that are provided!) we went very dinner at a local restaurant with delicious food. So tasty. If you are vegetarian make it very very clear to the guide, because vegetarian meals are not as common in China as in Europe. When we finished our meal, we drove back to the wall for the camping. All the camping equipment was provided and transported with a van, so you don’t have to worry about carrying it around with you. It’s not the 5 Star Plaza, but definitely a cozy and fun experience. Due to the wind, we didn’t camp on the wall but right next to it. Unfortunately we didn’t see a sunset or sunrise because it was so cloudy (we knew this beforehand, since we checked the weather forecast). But waking up watching the wall appearing and disappearing in the mist was so magical and a bit eerie (I found it a bit Lord of the Rings-y); it was just as beautiful. We had to get back to work early, so we didn’t do a morning hike or breakfast. Our guide Woody was fantastic. Good knowledge of English and very knowledgeable in general: he told as a lot of background information during the day. And - not unimportant - super nice as well, All in all, the experience was a once in a lifetime one. I’ll never forget it!

We spent the night at a watchtower on the Great Wall and hiked a bit to other areas. Even with poor weather this was quite an experience and an amazing view. Joe is an amazing guy and I highly recommend booking a tour with him.

This was our first time booking a tour and it was a great experience! We hired Untouched Great Wall Hike on a private 2 day tour with camping, starting with the Jiankou section the first day and Huanghuacheng section the second day. Our guide Peter was awesome, really kind too! He provided historical information on the Great Wall, and was very aware of our hiking pace (a ton of steps and sweating but worth it 100% if you love hiking/photography). We also loved the food options Peter chose, he selected a variety of dishes to try. Would highly recommend this company, as well as Peter! Thank you!
