Cai Rang Floating Market

Sunrise on the Mekong River Around 6:00 AM, the river is quiet and the sky begins to glow. As the sun rises over the water, you’ll enjoy one of the calmest and most beautiful moments of the day. ⸻ Cai Rang Floating Market When the river gets busier, you arrive at the famous floating market, where boats sell fruits and vegetables right on the water. Here, you’ll enjoy a hot bowl of noodle soup on the boat — with a vegetarian option available. ⸻ Life on the River You’ll switch to a smaller sampan to explore deeper. Fresh pineapple will be cut and served right on the river. Your guide shares stories about how local people live, trade, and raise their families on the water.

An authentic and unforgettable immersion in the heart of the Mekong

We had a great time on this tour of the floating market of Cần Thơ. Our guide was exceptional from start (05:30 🥴) to finish: punctual, warm and very professional. She took the time to explain the local life, the habits of the vendors and the history of the market, which made the experience much richer and more authentic. We particularly appreciated his good humor and ability to answer all our questions accurately. The experience on the water was incredible: several boats clung to ours, allowing us to eat and drink directly from these boats. We were also offered tea and coffee, there was also a way to take fresh juices prepared on site. We visited one of the floating houses, where we could taste delicious local fruits. The lady who drove the boat during the 4 hours excursion was very smiling and laughing non-stop, which made the moment even more pleasant and lively. The visit didn’t stop there: we discovered a family-run rice noodle factory, and we even got to participate in making the rice cakes used to prepare them, an experience that was both fun and authentic. An unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to anyone wishing to discover the Mekong Delta in the best conditions. Thank you again for this moment!

It was a smooth booking pricess via email with Nick, who provided quick, friendly responses. I booked a personal tour for two people and listed the places that I wanted to visit. Everything was reconfirmed the day before and our tour guide Vy met us in the hotel lobby. She was a knowledgeable and cheerful guide. The highlight was travelling on the water to get to the various places. We stopped on a boat to see how a family lived and traded on the river, before visiting a cacoa farm, noodle making factory and seedling area. At each place, Vy explained the manufacturing process and answered questions. It was a hot and humid day but we had rest stops with cold drinks. We also had an excellent lunch where Vy explained the local way of eating the egg pancake. Vy dropped us back at our hotel after a hot but enjoyable day. Highly recommend a tour like this as we wouldn't have found all those places or travelled as easily by ourselves.

Fantastic experience, big recommendation and thank you for our guide Vy. Floating markets are definitely worth it but the serenity of the forest and canals in the nature reserve segment of the tour really stood out - I’d definitely recommend not missing that if you’re coming to Can Tho

Beautiful tour. Grace, our tour guide was fantastic. She took care of everything, explained a lot about the country and people and provided all the information. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish including delicious breakfast and snacks in between. Highly recommended.

On top! we can only recommend this excursion by the local agency "Mint Travel" (contacted by Facebook) and our fantastic Francophone guide "Anh" if you travel in the Mekong Delta. Our day started at 5:45 am or Anh picked us up from our hotel in Cantho. We took a boat ride to the floating market where we had breakfast on the river (Pho, coconut and fresh fruit) then we were visited a rice noodle factory. Then departure for the nature reserve where we visited by boat and on foot before a small stop at a local restaurant. Then we took a wonderful electric bike ride through the rice fields, the orchards with pomelo tasting on the farm, visit to a beautiful Khmer Buddhist temple surrounded by nature and walk to a local market with delicious sugarcane juice. The day was full, Anh is adorable, she took care of us and made us discover her wonderful region with its traditions. She is passionate and very endearing, and we wish her the opportunity to come and study in France as she wishes. We would have liked to stay longer, but we took the excursion for 1 day with transfer to Ho Chi Minh at the end of the day. This enriching experience will remain as one of the great memories of our trip to Vietnam. Thank you to Mint and Thank you Anh!

We had a great time on this tour of the floating market of Cần Thơ. Our guide was exceptional from start (05:30 🥴) to finish: punctual, warm and very professional. We particularly appreciated his good humor and ability to answer all our questions accurately. The experience on the water was incredible: several boats clung to ours, allowing us to eat and drink directly from these boats. We were also offered tea and coffee, there was also a way to take fresh juices prepared on site. We visited one of the floating houses, where we could taste delicious local fruits. The lady who drove the boat during the 4 hours excursion was very smiling and laughing non-stop, which made the moment even more pleasant and lively. The visit didn’t stop there: we discovered a family-run rice noodle factory, and we even got to participate in making the rice cakes used to prepare them, an experience that was both fun and authentic. An unforgettable experience that we highly recommend to anyone wishing to discover the Mekong Delta in the best conditions. Thank you again for this moment!
