Taken at the pace of the group, this is a unique way to see the best of the lakes. We might head up a gentle river, paddle through nesting birds, or go and jump off a jetty... no two sessions are the same!

What To Expect
Having put on the buoyancy aids and kitted up in wet suits (if required) we will head out onto the beautiful Derwent Water (The 'Jewel' of the Lake District). Although every session is different depending on weather / group etc, we will explore some of this amazing lake, and learn new skills as we go.

5.00We had a canoe raft for family of 5 on derwentwater. Even though the weather was rubbish we still throughly enjoyed it. Jay the host was funny and informative. Had a fab time thanks.

5.00We had the most exhilarating day out with this incredible mobile watersports company on the stunning Ullswater! Our large group of dads and kids were buzzing from start to finish. The team was brilliantly organised, super friendly, and made sure everyone felt safe while still pushing us just enough to make it a real adventure. The canoeing was a perfect mix of fun and challenge — gliding across the lake with the mountains all around was just magical. But we were also treated to another highlight- rock jumping! Watching the kids (and a few brave dads!) conquer their nerves and leap into the water was something special. It wasn’t just fun — it was a real moment of growth and resilience for them, and the instructors were amazing at encouraging and supporting every step of the way. This wasn’t just a day out — it was a memory-making, confidence-building, laugh-out-loud kind of experience that we’ll all be talking about for years. Can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re looking for a unique, active, and meaningful group adventure in the Lakes — this is it!

5.00We had a two hour taster session, myself and youngest daughter in a canoe and my elder daughter on a paddle board. What an absolutely fantastic experience. We had an amazing couple of hours on the water with Steve he was informative and good fun all round! We would highly recommend this experience fantastic value for money and awesome memories made! 5.00My husband and I booked a 2 hour canoe taster session at Keswick and it really was a great introduction to canoeing. We had some basic instruction from Steve, our instructor, and 15 minutes in the bay close to shore whilst getting familiar with controlling the canoe. Then Steve followed us from island to island at our own pace, giving us tips and ensuring we stayed safe from the launches and their wake! We really enjoyed being on the Lake and wouldn't hesitate to recommend using this company if you're thinking of having a go at canoeing. Tip - wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet.

5.00Steve was a great instructor. He made us all feel welcome and was reassuring and keen to help but have everyone some independence too. The time passed really quickly and we loved canoeing on beautiful Derwentwater. We learnt lots along the way. A fun family activity. Next time it’s paddle boarding.

5.00We booked on the 2 hour canoe taster session which I found via the National Trust. It was a great experience. Phil was a fantastic instructor, brilliant with my teenage boys. We had a lovely time and would definitely book another activity.

5.00It was really good! We were given good, clear instructions, a very friendly instructor, and the canoeing experience as a whole was fantastic. Spectacular views throughout - a shame we couldn’t take photos! We will likely be back again for another outing. Thank you Jay for our afternoon on Derwent Water.

5.00Amazing day with Adam and enjoyed every bits of it! Make sure you get to the car park at least 30 min ahead during busy seasons. Everything was perfect and it was a beautiful enticing experience!

5.00Great canoe taster experience! My 10-year-old daughter was initially worried about capsizing but was soon put at ease by Toby our instructor, and once on the water she loved it. A single canoe took us both, and after some practice we rowed around the little island just off Crow park & back. You'd have to try pretty hard to capsize one. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to any family on holiday in the lakes. Thanks MobileAdventure!
