DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! We were put a ferry- no tall sailing ship. Very disappointing. They even briefed everyone once on boat saying no snorkeling gear available to which a lot of guests got angry about. Food was also terrible on the island. We insisted on being taken back to denarau marina as it wasn’t the experience we had booked and they refused. They instead had someone bring 15 snorkeling sets for over 100 people. Better off doing cloud 9, seventh heaven or malamala beach club.

We booked the trip at our resort based on the photos and description that offered a full day of adventure with “sailing” to a private island (showing the photos of a sailboat), reef snorkeling, morning and afternoon tea, and tropical lunch, with an optional trip to the Treasure sandbar (and other things(. We paid around 400 USD for two adults and one child. From the hotel we spend over one hour in a bus to the port, only to realize that a hundred of us were crammed into the inner main deck of a catamaran which felt truly like a one-hour ferry to the island. The “tea” consisted of lining up for hot water and a spoonful of instant coffee and cookies. Once there, the hundred people were let onto the beach in 40+ groups to run and try to take one of the plastic chairs or sunbeds. Only 15 people could go snorkeling at a time (so up to most 45 people). Then again one had to line up for lunch (not sure what was tropical about it) with no seats available. We could not wait for 3 o’clock to get out of there. It took 3 hours for the ferry and the bus to get back to our resort. Overall, we tried to make the best of it but it is way overpriced for what you get which is nothing like you’d imagine. It’s a wholesale routine for something you already get in your resort. I do not recommend it.

We were on our 25th wedding anniversary, and before leaving NZ, we went through a travel agent to book a reef cruise with snorkelling, which was to include the transfers to and from our hotel. After arriving in Fiji, we checked to confirm that the transfers were booked and what time the collection was for. At that time, we were informed that our transfer would cost more due to our accommodation arrangements. When the trip was booked originally, it was booked from the same hotel, so I cannot understand why there are now additional charges. However, as we wanted to do the cruise and snorkelling, we paid for the additional charges. The initial part of the trip was enjoyable, and the onboard crew were helpful and entertaining, and there were probably 40-50 people on board, some of whom were going scuba diving. We received a briefing related to the on-island component and were advised that if you want to go snorkelling, there were forms, including waivers to be signed, which we happily completed. As part of the briefing, it was explained that there would be groups of ten taken out snorkelling at a time. The inference was that there would be some form of coordinated approach, with further communication as to how the snorkelling component would proceed. So after we arrived on the island, as we were a group of six, we were happy to allow the first group of ten to go out snorkelling, expecting that the remaining people who wanted to go snorkelling would be informed of the approach. So my adult daughters and I went for a swim and my wife waited on the beach, but there was no further information forthcoming. So after an hour or so I approached one of the staff about what was happening, to be told of the correct person to speak to. So I went and spoke with her, and she stated that there would be another group going out shortly and she would come and collect our group of six. The inference was that it would be around a 10-15 minute wait and we would be going out, so we sat and waited. However, another hour passed and it was lunch time and there had been no further communication from the staff as to what was happening other than it was lunch. So we went and spoke directly with the snorkelling organiser again, at this time she told us we would have to wait until after lunch, she also asked if we had completed to forms. (I would have thought that would have been a question to check when I first approached her.) This was very disappointing as it could have been communicated earlier that nothing else was likely to happen until after lunch and we would have carried on with other activities. When the guide finally took us to the beach after lunch we were joined by another family which had two pre-teen children. (I would estimate around 10 years old.) Normally I would have expected from the guide some form of check-in with the guest as to people's capabilities are as well as providing some form of a safety brief. Including an overview of where we were heading and what sort of distances. (This did not happen) One of our party was given a broken fin to swim with and after asking for it to be replaced it was replaced with another broken fin, so she decided not to bother with the fins. After we swam from the shore the guide headed out and left people behind. I was toward the back with the two younger children and their mother. We were approximately 200 metres from shore and one of the children started to become a little distressed, mainly related to the depth and the fact that we were a distance from the shore. The guide was probably 30-40 metres away and continuing to swim further away being completely oblivious to this event. The child was a reasonable swimmer and, with support from me and the mother was able to continue. We carried on going out another 50-100 metres and then my family and I decided that we had enough, especially my daughter who had been given the broken fins. We advised the guide that we were heading in, but they did not appear to care. Overall the onboard staff and the facilities were good, however as we did this trip for the snorkelling. Because of the bad experience in the snorkelling and the poor communication with the transfers I would not recommend this experience.

Nice cruise out to the island , well organised by friendly staff. Best food we had in Fiji at the barbecue lunch. Glass bottom boat underwhelming due to the degraded coral , snorkellers and divers might have had better views . Recommend this cruise

Amazing experience, the staff is so knowledgeable and fun. They really include you and keep you entertained. The snorkeling and kayak experience is great. For lunch you get a BBQ spread and unlimited beer, wines and soft drinks. It’s well worth the price, I highly recommend.
