The City of Arcades food tour is a wonderful way to experience the city from a different perspective. The tour takes you through the beautiful historic arcades while stopping at a range of independent venues to sample a variety of international flavours along the way. The experience offers a great mix of sweet and savoury tastings, showcasing everything from Mediterranean and Spanish influences to Indian cuisine and traditional Welsh treats. It’s a well-paced tour with generous samples, and each stop highlights the quality and diversity of the local food scene. Sian is a fantastic tour guide – incredibly knowledgeable about the food scene in Cardiff as well as the history of the city and Wales. She shares interesting stories and insights throughout the tour that really bring the arcades and their history to life. It’s clear the tour also supports local businesses and celebrates the independent venues that make the city unique. Overall, this is a thoroughly enjoyable experience and a great option whether you’re visiting the city or simply looking to discover new places you may otherwise walk past. Highly recommended.

Sian is a fantastic tour guide. She made everyone feel involved and included, even in a big group of 12! She took us to some great places for some gorgeous food and drink and she had lots of interesting facts too about the history of Cardiff and the arcades themselves. Would highly recommend this tour!

Excellent tour of Cardiff! Sian our tour guide was kind, funny & really informative of Cardiff’s arcades. The variety of Welsh stores with so much delicious food and drinks were brilliant! Having lived in Cardiff all my life, I learned more about the history of the city and about some of the local businesses which was great. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to visit Cardiff and learn about its history in a unique and enjoyable way! 10/10

My husband and I really enjoyed the whole experience. Our guide Leuan was great. If I can be picky, the "olives, hommus" experience in the Cardiff Market was a bit challenging as the market was busy at the time. But we will be recommending it for our family and friends. Thank you.

When we took this tour we were surprised that everyone but us was from Cardiff! Which presumably cannot be planned or guaranteed, but lucky us, we got to spend several hours with a lovely group of locals, plus our wonderful guide Ieuan, a born and raised Welshman who has lived in Cardiff for many years/decades and who loves the city. The tour itself is so very good in that it’s not a rush from here to there with five-minute stops; instead, it’s a leisurely stroll through the iconic arcades and past various monuments and temples like St. John the Baptist Church, Cardiff Castle, the Cardiff Market, and of course, the rugby stadium — a great way to get oriented and with plenty of time for real conversation with real people who love the city. The food is a wonderful mix that reflects the vibrant culture of the city. We learned a lot from Ieuan and everyone else, and really enjoyed the company. Highly recommend.

Best foodie tour we've been on. Interesting but not too many facts; food tastes were delicious (mmm, Welsh cakes); and Sian was fun to chat with. This review is a bit late - it's six weeks since we went on it - but am sure it's still excellent. If you're new to Cardiff, the tour also gives you a feel for the layout of the central city.

Booking online from the US, I figured that visiting a variety of food spots with “Loving Welsh Food” would be a super way to get oriented to Cardiff on my first day there. I had only a dim idea about the layout of the city or its famous Arcades, those beautiful old wide leaded-glass-domed passageways between buildings – full of shops, cafes and drinks places spilling out into the corridor – and I might not have even gone into one by myself. What varied treasure our guide Sian showed us in there. The samples on the tour were mostly new and delightful tastes, and Sian made the tour interesting and relaxed; she was just a lovely guide, very personable, good company. Wouldn’t have missed it! On my return to Cardiff a week later from a geology tour around Snowdon, I went to the “Loving Welsh Food” evening show at The Welsh House, and loved the soup, poetry and songs with well-known Welsh actor Ieuan Rhys. All well worth it!

My sister and I went on this tour and we had a wonderful afternoon. There was plenty of great food and we went back to a couple of the places the next day as we liked them so much. Our tour guide Ieuan moved us around the city without rushing us and not only taught us about Cardiff, but led the conversation so that as a group we had a good time together. I would definitely recommend it as a good, tasty afternoon activity and a great way to see parts of the city you wouldn't necessarily see.

Fantastic food tour with Sian. We are from Cardiff and Sian managed to show us places we’d never tried and interesting facts about Wales we didn’t know! There was a great variety of flavours on the tour and a perfect amount and Sian was a lovely guide. 100% recommend to locals and visitors.
