Caerphilly Castle
Castell Coch
Caerphilly Castle
Built in the 13th Century, Caerphilly Castle is the largest Castle in Wales, famous for its water defences, and its leaning tower. Built by Gilbert de Clare to control the local population, construction of the castle was opposed by local Welsh rulers who attempted (and failed) to destroy the castle whislt it was under construction. It's impressive water defences have been described as "the best water defences of any castle in the UK"
Castell Coch
This fairytale castle sits nestled in the hills to the north of Cardiff, overlooking the Welsh Capital. Built on the ruins of a Norman Castle, this magical castle captivates everyone who visits

Wonderful experience getting outside of Cardiff and seeing more of south Wales. The castles were beautiful and we had a lot of time to explore.

Dave was a super guide. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of this tour. The inside of Caerphilly was closed but the outside is spectacular by itself. Castle Coch is a great experience and Llandaff Cathedral is definitely worth visiting.

I really enjoyed the itinerary, it was exactly what I wanted to do and didn't take up an entire day.

We enjoyed the tour and the chance to get out of the city. Wish that Caerphilly Castle had been open to the public, considering how far we traveled, as that was one of the reasons we booked the tour. But our tour guide was prompt, very kind and good natured, and easy to converse with. We were grateful for his time, patience, and expertise.
